Be willing to accept that everyone is different. So you will encounter all walks of life. Some will be nice and some won’t. Just try not to take it personally.

Be ready to deal with people of all kinds. Rude and nice. Just because somebody has a bad attitude does’nt mean it’s directed towards you. Make sure u re-count money when ur giving customers change back

Some helpful tips I will tell you first always wear some comfortable shoes because you feet will hurt after long periods of standing on them. Secondly you will have rude customers take it with a grain of salt and be kind back because you want to possess good customer service that will look good for you in the end. Third you never know what people are going through but think about how you would want your mom, grandma or other important family members to be treated. Whether someone is being rude towards you don’t take it personal be kind back so they understand they will ruin you from having a good day! Last tip if this is your first job because it’s relatively easy and fast pace you will love this as your first job interacting with customers and coming to work.

A tip to you from my experience would be to write down all the things that could go wrong (or how to handle what a frustrated customer would say) and what your response or how you should fix the problem would be, or ask your manager how to fix the problem if you don’t know before hand so that when it does happen you know how to handle it on your own.

First get you some really good shoes for standing long hours second remember everyone is different try to keep a positive attitude about the job you are going to come across many different personalities in customer service it’s not always fun but you could be the one to make someone day better.. but most importantly don’t take the job home and don’t bring home to the job.
