Help!! They shut my job DOWN!!!!

I am a server at a local place in my town and now they are shutting down all the restaurants in the area because of the virus. Can I collect? What the hell am I going to do now?? I walk there so I can't find someplace else to go without a car. I am SO screwed.

No, when restaurants close they don’t pay. Restaurants are one of those industries where remote work is not an option. You’ll have to file for unemployment and my understanding is that most states are on a wait list of 45-90 days before paying claims. A lot of people will be homeless.

Apply for unemployment time lost. I Know times are going be hard but have faith in the government. Also u may try a gas station maybe. All restaurant are down to bare minimum or closed. Keep faith. All will be ok

Hi Samantha, so sorry to hear about this! Do you have a car? If no, maybe there are some work-from-home jobs you could look for? Let me know if I can help you find something! I would imagine there are some work from home opportunities in fields like customer service at least... does anyone else have other ideas?
