Do you tip your delivery driver?

With the pandemic raging we're lucky if we can order out for food through delivery app like DoorDash, UberEats, Postmates, etc. These gig workers are risking their health by travelling throughout the city or town you live in to bring your food to you. Here's a quick video on why if you don't tip your delivery driver in the app you're going to be eating a cold meal for sure at a much later time than you expected. #deliverydriver #coronavirus #losangeles #foodservices #TTT

This is my perspective on this. A tip is optional. I usually tip my postmates and Grubhub drivers, since I have both platforms. Also, I communicate on how to get to my apartment. This is due to them changing the address to direct people to the other side. What happened was the people that own the apartments I live in changed it on Google, but still haven't physically moved their office to the other side because of renovations. To the topic back at hand, it is recommended to tip your delivery drivers. I even tip my Lyft drivers. If a metric is needed, go from anywhere from ten to twenty percent of the bill. If their service is shitty, then don't tip. That simple.

Tip cash, period! You should always always tip cash! And also, they are Not being compensated for their gas to drive that food to you, especially since they’re using their own vehicle, not a company vehicle to drive it to you, Tip them! This is not up for discussion. Don’t be a jerk & try to justify it that no one tips you at your job. Try doing their job and not getting tips. I’m sure you’ll change your tune quickly. Tip Cash

I’m a gig worker since losing my job, and tips are very much appreciated. By the time some companies get through we get about 10% especially on Instacart

It's the golden rule, right? Tip others the way you want to be tipped...

I always tip the driver. They are using their own vehicle and putting many miles on it. They do not get paid enough as it is and they have family's to feed.

Things people don't know is that alot of times when you put a tip on GH or any other Platform the Drivers don't get them. Not only that doing delivery we use our cars which we pay for the upkeep and gas. I actually told my customers and showed them the receipts that where the tip should be it would say zero. Many of these places also keep the delivery fee. So yeah we do rely on tips. Especially when your only getting paid 5.00 an hr tearing up your car.

You tip $3.00 they tack on service fee and taxes you order something for only $7.00 you end up paying $17.00 for something small which the place is very close. You say pay $5.00 so would pay more additional money for something.
