What is the BEST reason to work for Dollar General?

Let's just say I was an assistant manager making $13 an hour found out it was the same as a associate cashier I worked a whole month as assistant manager and then the store manager through in her keys so I went 4 months of doing my job the store manager's job and obviously the district manager's job because I could never talk to a district manager I would always get to run around that another store manager was going to come in to train me that never happened they sent in a man that had just been trained he was stocking frieght perfectly but he was not using the hht's to let corporate know what to order we had dry trucks coming in when one employee was only at the store now remember to district managers and corporate they don't care if you're there by yourself for 8 hours you better figure out how you're going to go to the bathroom when you got 10 people in line you better figure out how you want to get that fresh truck put up within an hour and a half two hours with people in line let's just say I threw my keys in Dollar general is not where you want to work unless you want to kill yourself just to watch district and corporate laugh at you through the cameras because obviously they ain't going to show up to help you or answer the phone when you call

Experience. Easy to get on & good Experience. Other than that. Ive worked at DG, heavy workload for a 2 person operated store. No discounts, low pay, doesnt treat employees well.

There is no good reason

Absolutely none

Absolutely none

Every one loves to shop for food product at low cost. And the dollar tree and dollar general is growing to be number one

Because it's all our favorite store.

They couldn't afford my time...

The best reason for working at dollar general is the prices are somewhat affordable it depends on what department your working.
I work for the Dollar Tree now. I've worked for Dollar general also. I didn't stay with them long. They do not treat their employees good at all. They give the store manager minimum hours and maximum work loads. They expect them to get all the work done on very little hours. The pay isn't great either. I've worked for Walmart also and I've got to say out of all 3 Dollar Tree is by far my favorite. We have a great store and district manager that works out schedule around our family needs. Good luck on whatever you decide to do. But Dollar general really over works and under pays their employees.
