Amazing veteran's essay about stress transitioning to civilian life
This is an incredible piece about transitioning from the military to civilian life and how #stressful it can be: "Transitions out are never easy. But by acting as if mine should be, I ensured it was difficult. I had tried to leap into civilian life rather than bridge the gap, only discovering on the way down that the distance was too far."
It's about what might feel awkward for #veterans in civilian workplaces especially and the health and stress problems the author faced, and about how reconnecting with the VA helped. I love the image of "a shopping spree of self-care" and his starting to feel a connection with the older vets.
Highly recommended!
