Job Hunting In January

I am not looking for a new job for myself but I work with staffing companies to help them share their open jobs with Jobcase. Most of the staffing companies I'm speaking with are not hiring or are not hiring very many people in January.

But from what I am reading online, it seems January is a great time for job search -- this made me think of the Jobcase community:

If you are actively job searching how are you managing your search? Are hiring managers getting back to you quickly?

How are those of you that are actively seeking work staying motivated if you aren't seeing many open jobs in your field of expertise or your geography?

I found these articles on the topic and thought they were worth sharing:

Happy job hunting to those of you that are are actively looking and I am always happy to help with suggestions or connections!

Same with me. I apply for jobs in well qualified for and hear nothing back. My resume goes back to the early 80s so I too think age is a factor. Perhaps ill cut it down some and see. Careful who you sign up with. Some of these job agencies are shady and will sell your personal information. I get 10 spam calls a day now cause of it.

I work at 2 factories and know that most shut down for 2 weeks between Christmas and New Year's. We are still relatively slow at the one job.

Hey Laura Turner , can I lean on your Recruiting Managerial expertise to help us with a common member concern/question... What's the most effective way to follow up after the interview?

Employers are typically very excited about our candidates immediately after the interview (or so they say) but the 'employer ghosting' practices that follow are very confusing.

Any tips, strategies and/or suggestions you can offer the community will be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks Laura Turner :-)
