Customer Service Representative at Bank Of America

He made me take my gloves off!!

I work at a bank and I have been wearing gloves in the past few days. Now my boss doesn't think the gloves look very professional so he told me not to wear them in anymore and take them off. Can I tell him no way in hell?! I am not getting the Coronavirus!

Wearing gloves might not be a good idea since everything you touch will be on the gloves. Then you touch your face, nose or mouth. The germs are on the gloves so anything you touch is transmitted to your face. Medical Professionals change gloves after every appointment. https://healthfocussa.net/infections/wearing-gloves-to-the-grocery-store/

Gloves might do more to spread Covid19 unless you change them after every transaction. You wear gloves, someone hands you a transaction to handle so those possible germs are now on your gloves. You do 10 transactions and now germs from all 10 transactions are on your gloves. How many times did you touch your face during and between transactions? You’re better off with hand sanitizer between transactions and go gloveless. Those doctors and nurses who wear gloves throw them away as they leave the exam room even if all they did was type. The first thing they do when they walk in the exam room is put hand Sanitizer on their hands or fresh gloves.

You can tell your boss whatever you like.. exactly how u feel but it might not turn out in ur favor.. in this instance tell him ur not comfortable with that.. if its still an issue for him then let him handle it how he pleases but fuck that no employee should ever blindly do what their employer says..

You might call your local Health Dept for their recommendation.

Basically...banks are really being watched right now...this could be shared with the right folks and he could immediately fired.

I think during this time it could be an OSHA violation on your rights to protect yourself.

Grocery stores where I live changed to a credit or debit card only option and shut down their ATM's so they don't handle cash. Stand up for yourself. No one else will.
