Job Hunting
is honestly so frustrating. It's like you have this resume, only for them to make you input everything all over again into their website, and then it goes into "NoWhereLand"! I have been heavily applying for almost 4 weeks now with barely any phone calls. My resume is on point, I have the education/experience but I'm stuck in limbo. Ugh. #applications #jobsearch #nowhereland

Thanks everyone! I actually did have my resume written to pass the ATS through a professional service. I feel it is working because my resume is making it to the HR (I can see the status on the websites) but no calls to schedule interviews.

Here is a good blog about ATS:https://www.jobscan.co/blog/8-things-you-need-to-know-about-applicant-tracking-systems/

I agree it wss a lot better when jobs er in the newspsper and call and see if job was still available. Now u do not know if your resume is being lookef at. This is not how to get a job. Summer they are looking for part-time and seasonal help.

Unfortunately you maybe over qualified. A lot of companies won’t hire you bc if this. Some fear of loosing their job. So an on point resume and high qualifications aren’t always good and it’s very sad to say.

I'm with you I did the same thing on several job websites and get nothing and always have reenter my resume after I had already downloaded to my profile.

Research the ATS program and revamp your resume. Also, begin to contact the HRM after two weeks to follow up. You may find out that some of your applications did not reach the HR department. I have experienced this personally when applying online through several well known sites. Do not give up, you are well on your way but do your homework and research.

Your resume may need to be optimized to pass the ATS. You might want to share your resume here for a professional review.

Hi Maegan!
I totally understand your frustration - applying online for jobs seems to redundant since they ask all the information on your resume and cover letter in their application, and then turn around and ask for those too.
One thing you can do is to make sure your resume doesn't fall through the cracks of the ATS system that many companies use for online resumes to pre-screen what their HR departments or hiring managers go through.
Also, job searches have this funny way of lasting WAY longer than we'd like them too. I know it seems never-ending, but you WILL get a job with enough hard work. If you aren't already, treat the job search like it's your current job - spend 8 hours a day researching companies, tailoring your resume to each application, and writing custom cover letters. It will take longer than just mass-applying with one version of each but I promise you will start to see results.
I hope this helps - and please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you!!
Good morning
