On This Veterans Day...
As we pause to honor the millions of brave men and women who serve or have served in our Armed Forces we feel it’s also important to remember the challenges our returning Heroes encounter while transitioning back into civilian life. Seeking and obtaining employment continues to be one of the major concerns affecting our transitioning US service members.
The US Department of Labor Statistics estimates the unemployment rate for post Gulf-War II veterans to be as high as 4.3% in Oct/2016 compared to the national unemployment rate of 4.5% which is remarkably close considering the growing job market and corporate emphasis on the Veteran Recruitment Appointment, (VRA) effort which was originally designed as a non-compete hiring agreement granting qualified Veterans hiring priority during the job application process.
Our goal is to continue to provide our military Jobcase members and their families a collaborative effort of relative career development and job opportunities information. In order to maintain this initiative we’ve designed a quick list of employment, education, and support services readily available and equipped with the proper resources to provide service Veterans with aid and guidance during their military to civilian transitioning period.
