What should I know before I interview for a Receptionist job?

I agree with that. Also, they will ask you if you feel comfortable working with people - helping and talking with them. I always get asked how are your customer service skills. They want someone that is reliable and dependable. I am a very outgoing person. I enjoy it. I take public transportation, but still show up in a storm as long as the bus runs. Try not to get nervous.

Definitely do your research on the company you are interviewing with. There are many different hats a Receptionist wears , you will be the face of the company. Be courteous inviting and welcoming and brush up on on the skills that you would need to answer phones file papers run errands and help out customers or guests whatever you're dealing with be ready to do anything.

Make sure you have knowledge about the company and what they do. Be prepared to answer question similar to when was a time you dealt with a difficult person and how did you handle it? Also often time the interviewer will how you deal with stress and/or a stressful situation.
I agree with that. I would also be prepared to answer the questions: Do you have Customer Service experience ? How long? They may ask you how well do you work with people. Does answering several lines bother you? Can you Multi task? Are you a reliable and dependable person? I don't know if the position has required computers, but now a days they ask how many years experience do you have? It is annoying, I get it all the time. They may give an example of something and what to know how you would handle it.
