Working from home / COVID-19

Hey everyone!

Has your company prepared you to work from home for extended periods of time? I've read about a lot of companies who are trying to prepare for a situation in which they close the office. My company has been really on top of it, sending us updates and keeping us aware of the growing situation, setting up hand sanitizing stations, and cleaning the office more regularly. It's made me feel better to know that my company cares about our state of mind in these anxious times. How are you all feeling about working from home and COVID-19? #workfromhome #coronavirus #covid19

A lot of my job is work from home. I teach ESL and much can be done online teleconferencing with students. However there is the personal 1 on 1 contact that is lacking. Language looses its personality when it is taught in this antiseptic impersonal way. My company didn't really provide the tools, however I had the necessary tools anyway before the virus

Steward and Tracy you are part of the problem due to your selfish ignorant attitudes. Tell your nonsense to the 13,000 that have died and that number will continue to climb. What will it take for some of you to listen and care about other human beings and their safety??? This is not mainstream media feeding you BS. My otherwise extremely healthy 70 yr old Sister has Covid-19 and trust me it is not fun. She was in extreme pain for 2 1/2 weeks not being able to breath and could not sleep for days on end due to her pain and was in ICU on a respirator. This virus hits people differently. Thank God she is finally pulling through now. Will it finally sink into the marbles between your 2 ears when YOU or a loved one gets sick or dies?? Is that what it will take???!!!! We ALL need to stay home and START looking past our own noses. The sooner EVERYONE starts to do this the faster the world can go back to normal. Until you selfish ignorant fools get that message.... the longer this will go on. Maybe some of you don't remember Swine or Aids but I sure do and thousands died. Some called Aids the gay disease seems to me more that LBGT people caught it and died from it. For those that get to work from home...be grateful.... as MILLIONS have lost their jobs and with the way things are going they will not find a new job for MONTHS. Get your head out of your rear ends or you will be next. Have some respect for others especially people older then you and keep your distance. Especially you young people who think nothing can touch you. Someones life is in your hands and I for one would never want that on my concision. I am NOT AFRAID as what will be will be..... however I can be responsible and CARE about my fellow humans. I STAY HOME FOR ALL HUMANITY. What will your legacy be....I was selfish and murdered innocent people???? As a native NYer did 9/11 not teach some of you anything??? Life is precious so respect ALL human life.

Ter at Medical Transcriptionist A Ri Unlimited Telecommute

I have worked from home for years in medical documentation and records. However, not even the telecommuting positions are immune to the trickle down of the madness. We are beginning to see the impact of government mandates regarding clinic/physician offices appointments cancelling different appointment types, elective surgeries being cancelled and etc. which of course in turn reduces the amount of charting they need to do. The company I work for has prepared us by updating us frequently as different areas enforce restriction on patient type and flow.

It's called FEAR my friend. Mainstream Media has weaponized a virus that does much less damage than a typical flu does. The virus (any type) can be on the doorknob that the delivery guy touched when delivering your package, or the dollar you had as change, or the keypad on the ATM/Card reader at the store. Buying ink for your home printer can be laced with viruses. Lets just wash our hands and areas we frequent.

If you are fortunate enough to be able to work from home that is amazing! Unfortunately, not everyone is able to in their current job. For those that are not, I would suggest making sure to keep your hands clean, avoid touching your eyes, and also staying home if you are ill.
