So after finally obtaining a textile design job in October, I was wrongfully terminated on Nov 5th. HR’s reason: I asked too many questions and that I wasn’t the right “cultural fit.”
So, without any income whatsoever and no unemployment compensation, as they forced me to resign, I am left without any income to survive on and the holidays are right around the corner.
2018 has been my worst year ever as I’ve been unemployed for 6 months, only to finally be employed and then unemployed again...
In addition, I have clinical depression with recurrent thoughts of suicide so this whole situation is making me feel a whole lot worse. I've been in bed most of the time, I hardly have the energy to do anything. Some days I may have enough to look for work, but the moment i get rejection letters, the heavy wave of fatigue comes in and i'm back in bed unable to get up.
I am a graphic designer with over 10 years experience in the field, in addition, I have illustration and e-commerce skills as I run my own blog called cosmic funnies. I started this a side hustle but the income isn't steady.
I have student loans to pay which i can't even afford at the moment and my mom can only do so much as I await the savings from my retirement to come in the mail which will take 6-8 weeks to process. Until then, i am left with very little money from now to mid January so I hope someone will hire me even if it's a retail job..
If anyone is looking to hire a freelancer, please send them my way. Here is a link to my portfolio: https://jackiemoliner.myportfolio.com/

Hi Jackie,
I'm very sorry to hear you are hurting and understand how a job search can be very frustrating. The important thing to know is that you are not alone. Sometimes it’s tough to see beyond the present, but your situation will change, so please don’t give up.
I encourage you to speak with someone to discuss how you’re feeling and get suggestions. You might try visiting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline site for additional support and information or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a similar organization. Both have numbers you can call for 24/7 crisis support if you need someone to talk to.
I would also check out freelance work sites like 99designs, UpWork, or Fiverr so you can continue to work from home and gain new contacts in your field.
Hang in there and know we are in your corner.
Sincerely, Laila
