Needs Encouragement

Really needing motivation; Been with successful company for 5 years; now without work due to company lay off... Been going on interviews since, but it feels like each position I apply and interview for (and a GREAT fit) it seems like nobody wants to hire me. Keep in mind I helped open the doors at our site and went through several different MIT programs which were all successfully completed... I just need to know what I need to do and HOW... ANY advice or support is GREATLY appreciated

Hi Michelle Stolp - that really stinks. After a layoff, it can be difficult to get started again. Check out this conversation for some info on how you should handle framing your layoff in an interview. It is more geared towards being fired, but it still holds true.

It can be tough to bounce back from this, but you are strong enough too!

Additionally, this conversation has so many great resources and advice on the job search. I hope that it helps you out!

Best of luck Michelle. The community is here for you.
