If a company offered you unlimited paid time off but reduced your pay every time you took leave, would you take it?

Imagine this scenario: A company offers you a job with a good pay rate. You have the choice between one week of PTO with no change to your pay or you can have unlimited PTO but your pay is reduced by 1% every time you take a day off. This resets at the end of each year. Which would you choose?

No brainer! I’d take the unlimited PTO and then take all of December off, assuming that it’s the end of the company’s work year.

No, I'd rather have a decent amount of PTO independent from my pay rate.

I would choose the job and less of the vacation time off Because if it affects my take home pay I would consider working rather luxury vacation.
