What should I know before applying to a Security Officer job?

- Have a reliable mode of transportation to & from the site; 2)Treat those whom you are securing with the same patience & respect as you would want yourself. The best qualities an officer can possess are reliability, dependability, & vigilance.

One of the most important Things is you should have some kind of people skills. That means dealing with the public. Another thing is knowing how to think for yourself and to think outside the box as they say. There will be times where you will have to decide on the spot the best course of action. The main thing we as security do is Observe and Report. Do some security research and chose a company that treats their guards with respect and dignity.. More often you will learn many security skills on the job. While I was working Coachella I learned first hand about where drugs were hidden, How to spot someone who is intoxicated and more in a large outdoor venue.I learned how to use night vision to spot those who are illegally filming clips. Another aspect that i encountered was my first arrest as a security officer. I would recommend getting into Special Event Security.. each event is different and you don’t get struck in one place …God Luck Norland.. hope this helps answer your question..

Go back to school, you'd better off, than a security job.

What type of certification do I need, level 2 unarmed or level 3 armed?
