You would not make enough money of being a lyft/uber driver, after the gasoline, insurance and your car's maintenance what you make will be less than min. wages. How about looking for a cashier job? Do some research before you sign up. Lyft/uber drivers are making money for these two companies not for the drives themselves.

Yeah, Nicholas, I think if I needed the car and the work, why wouldn't someone try that out? It worked out pretty good for my friend. She loves driving ppl around. I think it's cool that they offer that kind of thing because not everyone has a good car ya know?

My friend drives for Lyft and she rents a car through them because hers kept on dying. A good way to get a car and a job.

There are companies out there where you can rent a car to do Rideshare. But if you are only doing it part time then renting would not work for you. There is money to be made, but only after you have learned the system and what works for you. I have been a part of Lyft since 2013 and have made some decent money. But the rates have declined, but risership has quadrupled and then some. But without a car you are better off getting a regular job to fill in your gaps.
