Workers won’t return when they can get ‘unemployment on steroids’

Where are workers supposed to return to when they have lost their jobs?
I would love to be working but, in the meantime time if my unemployment benefits can help me survive so that I don’t become another statistic because not every industry is hiring than I will gratefully accept the help. After all it is my tax payer dollars. For me, the benefits turn out to be what my monthly income was prior to the pandemic. They will need to extend unemployment benefits because four months is not sufficient to find a job. There are too many people that are unemployed and unless they want to see the homeless rate go up by 4 million they will need to be logical and continue benefits for a longer period of time.

I have a solution !!!! How about paying your bills freeze! ( with no penalty). No money coming in (due to extenuating circumstances beyond most of our control).... so no money can possibly go out!,.. because as we all know those bills are in your mail boxes like clockwork!!!...if only it were the other way around 🤓

What do you mean unemployment on steroids?

Not everyone is taking advantage some have no choice every one will return to work sooner or later the real problem is people on welfare

I think most Americans like myself would much rather work for a living !

Deena Parsolano, you are so right. But there is also the issue that in States like California and probably in many States, there are people who applied for unemployment 6 weeks ago, qualified, and have not seen a penny yet. These people are living and paying their bills on loans from friends and relatives, because they cannot get a job. There are many employers, including local governments that have a hiring freeze until the issue of this virus is resolved.

Would you? It was pushed by people who haven't worked. The House needs to get their butts back to Washington and fix this. There is also no provisions for people who were changing jobs and had their job offers rescinded. It's a hot mess. Contractors are also left out of the bill. Sure, throw money at H.S. part time workers, ignore the people who support a family. (There was no way for anyone to anticipate that this would happen and leaving 1 job before starting another would result in...nothing.)
And that it worked for you?
