I would not accept it but ask the co-worker to consult the supervisor for a mistake he or she made.

If a supervisor or a coworker asked me to cover for a mistake that they made, I would let them know that they are responsible for their choices. I would not be able to cover for anyone who tries to cover or hide the truth.
