I let a customer slip passed me while I was occupied helping another customer

everyone got along and worked as a team

It was a fun place to work, everyone worked as a team, we all worked hard to keep our store in tip top shape.

It was a usual busy Saturday afternoon on a nice summer day. A specific customer made me want to almost walk out of there. A customer came to my register and I did my routine greeting, “Hi! how are you today?” The customer didn’t say a word and pulled out her returns. As a cashier, this is was something to always expect. So as I was doing her returns, there was a runway item. For every runway item we are required to check the price tag it through a machine. As I took the clothes back to check it and came back the customer told me rudely, “where’s your manager bring them here.” I called for the manager and the customer complained that I was discriminating against her by checking to see if she didn’t change the price tag. My manager told her it wasn’t the case and moved on. I just couldn’t believe how fast things happened. As I politely wished her a great day, the customer looked at me with disgust, rolled her eyes, and walked away. Although it did ruin my day, I continued my shift with my head high.
