Well members, I must admit I'm a bit disheartened. I spent time searching through a decent number of remote job search platforms that profess to provide vetted job leads for current positions & companies hiring for roles that are primarily remote. I am disappointed.

Some sites are upfront in that they charge subscription or membership fees, while others tantalize the reader with what seem like promising opportunities only to withhold the application process unless you create an account & pay a minimal fee for a trial period. Oh, such scammery!

In fact, it appears the best (albeit sometimes time consuming & frustrating) methods to search for remote/ hybrid roles is through those job search platforms we are most familiar with. Jobcase is actually a great resource for remote work leads as are Indeed, Glassdoor, Monster & ZipRecruiter. For those not familiar with AARP, that organization also has a no fee job resource section.

Something for seniors who are considering re-entering the job force or seeking a change in roles is that you aren't required to stick with a particular job role or industry. You can consider pursuing job roles that may better suit your needs as you age. I have a 63 year old coworker who is retiring from his current customer service role & has decided to work his own schedule as a house/ pet sitter while also offering his services a a pet trainer. He isn't required to have a license or certification & is advertising his services on Facebook neighborhood groups & Nextdoor neighborhood groups with positive responses his first week. He can set his own schedule & set his own fees for service.

I encourage you to think outside the box here. I'm interested in your ideas about what kind of job you think suits a senior lifestyle & why. Having a job at our age may be to provide secure income for living expenses, funds to contribute to our retirement goals, opportunities to remain active & engaged in our community or any number of other reasons.

Let me know what you think & share with other members your job leads resources in the comments below & thank you for your contributions!
