If you want to work in retail...

I have worked in retail most of my life. I worked at Target, Dollar Tree, Macy's, and a few others a while back and I particularly enjoyed it in the men's department. I helped men find suits on the sales floor and also worked as a cashier. It taught me quite a few things about retail. You have to be tough. If someone has a bad day they might take it out on you. It's NOT personal. If you are the type who likes to take in the holiday season and relax, then nope move on. That's THE busiest time. If you want to move up in the company then you work hard for it. Do your job and do it well. Talk to your co-workers, help them out, and befriend them. It's good to have work friends no matter where you are. Good luck in retail!

Cashier

Being a cashier at target is a easy but yet, focus job position on hand with positive mood chatting with the customer to make sure like they at home

This grandfather needed some help!!

I went outside for a cart run towards the end of my shift at Target when the sky seemed to open up! It poured…HARD. The kind where no matter what umbrella you own you know you are guaranteed to get soaking wet. Out of the corner of my eye, I see this older man making his way slowly through the parking lot with his walker towards the door. He needs both hands to hold himself up and a huge gust of wind blew his hood off. I ran over and asked if I could help him. He reminded me so much of my grandfather. He smiled and said “Nothing like a hero on a day like this.” He was too cute. I pulled his hood back up over his head and helped him inside. He was soaked so I went in the back and grabbed some towels. He told me that he needed to buy a present for his granddaughter’s birthday and that a little rain wasn’t going to stop him. I have never admired someone more. #bekind2eachother

The biggest mistake I made as a #Vendingguruat at #Target ...

Touching the little girls head and trying to help a new hire.

Drama at #Target

A child and her father came in to the snack shop, the dad was paying for product. Mean while the little girl was trying to jump all the seats. So I said to her ,honey you Can't do that, you could fall and get hurt. I made the mistake of touching her hair.I didn't think anything of it,just trying to put her at ease with the my reprimand. Dad thought it was inapropreate.

What I loved working at #Target

I liked the fact that as soon as I grasped what I needed to do, they let me.
