Hi everyone, I am looking for a job (Full-time/Part-time/Contract) as a Software Developer and I have experience of 4+ years in software development (C#.NET). From last 2 months I am applying everywhere and most of the time I am not eligible for jobs because I am an international student and they ask me If I require sponsorship, they can't proceed with me and always I answer them that I can work without sponsorship for at least 2 years but then their reply is we don't hire people who don't already have sponsorship. I am still trying to search. I would really appreciate If you could help me with my job search or give me some suggestions like what to do and what not to do for landing a job.

Today I want to take a moment to mention the software development industry. This is a growth industry with lots of potential...maybe it is time you removed yourself from whatever treadmill you're on, and consider a radical change. Do a quick Google search for, say , '.NET developer', 'JavaScript developer', 'ASP.NET MVC jobs' for example...targeting whatever state you live in. When you're done, read this article, for starters: http://www.codingdojo.com/blog/5-myths-about-how-to-become-a-software-developer/

Then research the Department of Labor statistics on employment outlook for software developers, salaries, and rank on the list of fastest-growing occupations. Do your research!

BTW I am NOT associated with any organization, just want to disseminate information, maybe trigger a change in someone's thought process.

My circumstances are landing my first job as a software developer and I've been through many boot camps and workshops to prepare me for this industry. In spite of all my endeavours there are incidents in which I've received numerous of cold emails that lead to phone interviews and in-person interviews. However, I can never proceed to earn a job position. I've been told once you gain experience in the field the gates will open for future opportunities. Is there a method to earn a potential mid-level or junior software developer position?

The last Monday, I was on an interview where I was asked to solve this puzzle "Three Light Bulbs & Switches in a Room" http://puzzles.nigelcoldwell.co.uk/seven.htm

#Hint - I did not get that job.

#Confession: I never was good with all these #puzzles, #brainteasers and #crosswords. Ditto about #Chess. But somehow, between 1972 and 2016, I graduated University with Major Applied Math and now continue working as a Software Developer and Data Analyst.

I received a Applied Associate Degree in 2011, for Software Development. I got away from it because of the economy ( Hair Stylist ) but I now am pushing forward with a tutor and relearning Java. I want to make sure that I'm Proficient enough so that I'm will be ready as much as possible . but I want to know, Should I inquire about Job shadowing or just submit a Resume' for and Entry level position.
