Volunteering at #UnitedWay changed me

I learned how much helping others gave me a sense of satisfaction, self worth, and happiness. Knowing that the funds I helped collect were going to people in need opened up a side of me that I didn't know was there. I wanted to do more. I participated in other charities through my workplace. Relay for life, the heart walk, and peer sponsored fundraisers that benefited co-workers in need. I look forward to participating in other fundraising opportunities.

Best experience working with children?

When A child doesn't get it after my 1st attempt and still doesn't get it after a coworkers attempt, and I then try a different explanation and the child smiles with happiness and gets it. And after trust me to help her since she was a very quiet and insecure child.

Being a strong positive individual...

I am experienced with Special need children. I have dedicated my time to show care and compassion for their needs. I have worked with all children. My dedication and support has been an asset to the families and children I support. I am interested in working in a smaller environment.

Disabled Working

I've been disabled since 2005. I've since went to school to become an advocate for those in need of help not to mention getting my Criminal Justice Certificate. I'm only one course away from getting my Social Work degree the only thing holding me back is Algebra I hate it and just can't grasp it unfortunately. The way I see it is I have the knowledge for any job I'd be seeking and none of them would include having to know Algebra. I really wish someone would give me a chance to prove myself and to others I have the will and desire to succeed in whatever position that may be.
