Lead Social Worker

I was recruited for the position of Social Worker at TWHCH. I took the position after I was assured that my salary requirement would be met. When I arrived at the agency, I found that it was a shell of what it once was. The company was being headed by the CFO, who had no clinical experience. She hired an unlicensed NursingConsultant to run the company. The Consultant then hired a Social Worker who did not meet the criteria previously established by DOH for the position. She discharged two patients because she did "not want to burn herself out" by developing a safe discharge plan for them.

Fireman

A recent HS graduate wants to be a fireman. He was in a special needs learning environment called RESOURCE in Columbia SC school. He is an excellent reader with comprehension. I’m sure he’s good with other jobs. Is there a department in the Fire Department where we could get more information on a way to proceed. He very much needs to get into a field that could be his career. He’s always wanted to be a fireman. (- a neighbor of this young man)

DONT work for MT.Olive Care

A few of my past jobs drove me to move away from so.CA to get away from all the hustle and bustle. I left all my family and friends, found a job that I ended up loving in NV. In a matter of weeks I was promoted to lead staff then a month later I was promoted to assistant manager. It was exciting. I've been working since high school but this was the first time I've ever gotten a raise let alone a promotion. I was happy until they kept sending new staff w/ no experience to train under me. I didn't mind training new staff it was just the fact that I was getting paid less than the staff I was training. Come to find out the company owner was everyone's uncle. I can't tell you how many times he said his office had an open door policy but that wasn't the case. Shortly after the first time I expressed I felt mistreated I was suspended and taken off the schedule, until the owner couldn't get one of the thousands of nephews he hired to work. I was mistreated, disrespected, and always kept in the dark. I strongly urge anyone and everyone to NEVER work for Mt. Olive Care. Unless you like feeling worthless. They send out schedules less than 8hrs before your shift. And more than once a week there's a schedule change. Sometimes they don't send it to you they'll let you know when you clock in and if your part of management you'll be expected to work whenever wherever they say because"it comes with the job" but nowhere in the handbook does it say so. The owner went to law school so he knows how to get away with the sweatshop he runs. I mean if your desperate for a job, they are currently understaffed and overwhelmed. Lol. There's a reason.
