Holy cow!

I took early retirement from my academic job to go into business( not working), have reentered teaching as an adjunct(Sociology- I have a PhD) . I like teaching Sociology. Adjunct work- they pull the rug out from you for just about any reason - whether or not you perform well or not. I need to get into some other type of work But need job counseling , and I am broke . Any suggestions? I’m really struggling

The best thing I learned from my job was...

That it was a great and fun place to work ! The atmosphere and all the employees were very helpful to each other . I worked in knife department for 5 years—- checking knives and packing. I. Also was the first person to build comptroller heads. That was a favorite job of mine ! From there I went to the foundry and was the first woman to work as wax technician! This was a really fun job required some heavy lifting so I retired after 20 years! I wish I was still there but at 80 years old, I doubt that they have any jobs for old ladies! It was the best job that I have had in my life-time !

Senior seeking employment.

For most of my career, I was a transportation specialist. The road took away from me more than it ever gave back in terms of my health. I never slept right ate right or got enough exercise. I developed type two diabetes and suffer from arthritis, however over the past several years I have made considerable strides and am considering entering the job market but so far have been unsuccessful. I am a self-starter, relatively intelligent, honest and dependable.

Searching

I’m currently 66 years old and I’m working full-time as an in-home care associate I’m looking for another job and I have applied to many different positions I am very qualified to do administrative assistant positions and reception jobs. I’m not sure but I think most employers look at my age and possibly think I Donely work for a year or two and then I’d leave I’m a loyal employee I worked at Cascades Job Corps for 16 years I’ve worked as an office manager for physicians clinic for eight years and I’ve been with my current job for five years now I’m really lost at this point I don’t know what else to do But continue to search

Seasoned Sales Executive

Hello!

I live in San Diego, CA and was laid off a month ago due to a restructure of the company. My question is I’m 50+ and although I neither look or act it, when I fill out applications and potential employers see my experience, I feel I’m being age discriminated against. I’ve primarily been in the same industry for about 20 years and I want to make a change to SaaS. It’s been a challenge being considered into these young companies. I’m vibrant and still have a lot of energy to give to an organization; not to mention I can sell just about anything. Any suggestions??

Thanks!
