Second Chances
Everyone deserves one I know I'm capable to do anything I set my mind to Its hard out here for the ones that's really changed employers need to start making changes within companies hiring process and background I'm just saying I have something on my background over 25 yrs old and instead of getting a job I wanna work I end up jobs I don't wanna work but have to work just to barely maintain smh @some of these companies

Took test
I took the test last Friday and I passed 2 of the 3 but the one I failed in getting a second chance on. Guess it's a good sign they want me to retake it

I made so MANY mistakes and they still hired me!!!
I made mistakes...a lot of em. Ready for this? I initially sent my resume through in a garbled, unreadable format. I insulted the HR person with a joke I told thinking I would impress her with my witty banter. I failed. I don’t think I maintained good eye contact because I was a nervous reck. Then just for good measure, my potential boss saw my mom waiting for me post-interview (please no judgement). Yet through all of this and after what feels like forever, I was offered a job. My point. You can make a lot of mistakes, but when someone believes in YOU and sees your potential worth then those little things don’t matter. Good luck everyone!

past or present??
I think its really messed up that employers hold your past against you.when i was young i made mistakes got locked up and now that is what employers look at. .It dont matter what the truth is all they worry about is what they see or hear.I work my ass off no matter what job i have and all my co workers love me, do they see that or care about that??? No.so thats the difference between past and present. .i know ppl are going to say a bunch of stuff but please never judge noone about there past because you don't know the truth..

Right When You Think You've Had About All You Can Take
Hello folks. I've been away from the site for awhile trying to put my money where my mouth is, all the while feeling like a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest. Needless to say, it's been a losing battle day in and out trying to win that contest! I've gotta admit it, I'm fuc&!$* frustrated and the feeling is becoming a bit of a sore point to my already bruised ego. Getting a job being an ex-con is really a trial. I hit up a construction site on my side of town today looking for a job (I'm not making this up either. I'm just proving how unbalanced the system is right now), and the guy I spoke to, a sub-contractor as kindly as he could, told me that he already had enough help. The "help" he referred to were Hispanics with a non existent command of the English language. When I switched to Spanish, those guys really shut up then! But I'm not mad at them for working. No. If anything I'm glad they're trying to take care of their families. They probably lost something or everything when Harvey rolled his happy ass through tearing up the Texas coast. No. What I'm pissed about is that I can't get a fair chance, even from the Waste Management co., after twenty years of prison! And to make it a laughing matter, they've got a post about banning the box. Oh I love it. And I don't want this to come off sounding like I've got a "woe is me" complex, because feeling sorry for myself is the last thing I want to do. When I get low enough I'll sleep it off for eight hours and get over it. Again, I am pissed. I am at that point where I have had about all that I can take from this society. But then I remember that while I am the one who did time in prison, they're the ones stuck in a prison and they're completely unaware of how caged they are. Do I want to get to work and stop filling out applications? Fuck yeah. Do I want to choke the yokels who can discriminate from behind a screen without fear of reprisals for that discrimination? Uh, yeah. But it's not going to get me or anyone else who feels the same way, anywhere closer to where we're really trying to go. But I know that I came from good solid stock and that I can take on the world each and every day. I am bruised, broken, bleeding and sore, but I am unbowed. And I will not let life, society, or my fears hold me down and back from what my ultimate goal is. So? Bring it y'all. Texas born Taurus on board and I don't take shit from myself ! Imagine what it's like for the next person.
Peace y'all.

Missing my job
I had acquired a job days before my birthday this year. I was excited because I loved working for this company previously in another county with almost the same hours. I am asthmatic and the stress of trying to get to work kept contributing to the bad time I was having with a bad re-renovating project my significant other and I acquired. My time having my breathing treatments and working was very overwhelming as I had to get a treciotomy 2 years ago and this was my very first job since then. I never went back. I just kinda told them my asthma was giving me a run for my money. The real reason I didn't contact them back is because I was very hurt emotionally and still am. I'm finally out of the re renovation but now would wrather have my own car again. Figuring it'll be way easier. #NowPlayingTheLottery

My Boss Retracted my Job Offer
I was so excited to switch over to another department after being overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated. My new position had the same benefits, but with better pay, great hours, and there was also a balance in the workload. I gave my two weeks notice to my supervisor and did all the prep work for my fellow coworkers. On my last day, I got a call from my future supervisor, that the offer has been retracted due to my current supervisor explaining I am not qualified for the position, but would gladly take me back to remain working in my current position. I found out my supervisor is known to sabotage people leaving the department. So I took it to HR, with documents and anything I could use as proof against her accusations. Though I did not get the job offer back, I did get another interview and was able to move to another position.
