Are there part time jobs that could use my expertise?

Retired after 35 years. Relocated to Boise and would like to work part time

with age comes experience and knowledge, but how much 'age' is enough?
I will be 65 in August and I know that Lord willing I have at least five good years left. How do I get around the barbed wire fence that is intended to keep people over 55 out of the job market?

Desperation
I have hit pretty much rock bottom. I have lost my retirement and everything. Even started a fund me account https://www.gofundme.com/manage/sinking-and-not-getting-air to see if that helps. I know we all look for jobs and hope to find one, but I know found out just how bad it is where I live. I was shocked to see that the town I live in was ranked SECOND amongst EVERY town in the United States. No wonder I have such a hard time....

Not missing another sunset
I decided to end my 9-5 day job and start enjoying life more. I will start to collect SSN (I am 63) and will work part time. I was hating Mondays and the weekends were too short. I want to see the sunsets instead of being in an office. I have lots of life to live.

Time to retire?
I"m a software developer in Dayton, Ohio (USA) with over 20+ years of experience. The problem is, most of that experience is in Perl, and almost no one is still writing code in Perl. I have some Java experience (1 1/2 years), but all the Java developer jobs I've come across require at least 3 years of experience in the language. I've never worked with C# or .NET, so I'm not qualified for those jobs. Also, I can't relocate due to family commitments. I'm ready to throw in the towel and give up. But I can't see myself doing anything other than IT. Any suggestions?
