An engineer begged me to come work for them

A friend told me about it.

My #HowardJanitorial advice
I would say it's a good job. Just because I had a falling out with my supervisor doesn't make it a bad job. I would recommend it to someone who wants that kind of work.

A friend of mine that was already working there helped me get it.

RESUME FRAUD
This Happened To Me A Few Years Ago.
I Applied For A Job Through A Mutual Acquaintance Who Delivered My Resume To Her HR Office.
I Was Called In A Week Later To Interview For The Position For Which I Applied, Knowing I Was OVER QUALIFIED I Wanted To Be Closer To Home, I Was Confident At a This Interview Knowing I Was A Strong Candidate, 2 Weeks Later I Was Informed Another Candidate Was Chosen.
A Month Later My Acquaintance Was Promoted To That Position... I'm Happy For Her; However The Long Term Future For This Person Could Have Been A Lot Brighter Had She Engaged Herself In A Truthful and Positive Light Professionally... Every Day I Strive To Be A Decent, Honest and Hard Working Person.

Totally unprofessional
I applied for a job where my daughter works, there are no rules against it there. I interviewed with the head of that department and she loved me. I got a call to come back for a second interview to meet the rest of the department and answer questions from them. Afterwards I was talking to the department head and we were discussing pay. I get an email over a week later saying that I am no longer being considered for the position. The reason? The general manager, who never met me and has never talked to me said he had a gut feeling it wouldn't work. How do you get a gut feeling when you have never even met the person? They all love my daughter there, in fact, when I walked into my first interview I was congratulated on what a great job I did raising her! The department head apologized to me, said they had no idea this would happen. I will moved forward looking for other opportunities but this just really bothers me.

I am at a lost
A job i recently applied to may not be able to hire me because my last place of employment wont give me a reference, they told the company they could not confirm nor denied i work there, with out a job reference i cannot get a job even at mc donalds or jack in the box, i have denied my unemployment and now no job referance, i will soon be a Sr. Citizen living on the streets, l am feeling lost and little betrayed

Is this slander and libel?
Last year I was terminated from my position of 10 years for what I believe was retaliation.
The company I worked for started doing "anonymous" surveys on employee satisfaction. They had been doing them for a few years and I always gave my boss high marks (even though he didn't deserve it) because I didn't trust they were, in fact, anonymous. My boss ruled with an iron fist and was always angry and unhappy. It had been at least somewhat tolerable until the last year or so that I was there. Because he had gotten so bad, I gave him the bad marks he deserved on our "anonymous" employee satisfaction survey. Not long after, I was terminated on a trumped up reason. I'm very good at what I do, but after I was terminated it took me 3 months to find a job. I would do interviews and they would go great, to the point they would rave about my experience and how I would be a great fit. When it got to the point where the employers usually did their calling of references, it would stop dead in its tracks and I would get a reply of "it's not a good fit" or even no return calls at all.
Where this is going, is that recently I was out having a few drinks with a buddy that was working at the same company I was terminated from. For one, I was informed other employees were selling the same product I was terminated for, but they were able to keep their jobs. Also, For some reason my ex-supervisor always wanted to be chummy with my buddy and would verbal vomit info he probably shouldn't. Turns out that the "anonymous" surveys were not anonymous, and he found out I gave him bad marks on the survey. He then told him that it made him angry so whenever someone called for a job reference, he would say "He is NOT hirable...and I really wish I could tell you more."
Is this slander and libel? Not to mention retaliation. I'm not sure if I should get a lawyer about this or not. Ever since then I've had a difficult time finding a job that pays even close to half what I was making, and now I've gone through my savings, and I'm having to file for bankruptcy.
Does anyone have any input on this? Thank you in advance.
