Coperate Headhunter

So after posting my resume on Monster I was called by a coperate headhunter (theres nothing coperate about my background, they claim it's because my military service that they contaced me)... Now I have alot of experiance being 49 (as many know getting harder to find a job at that age) so went to a free consultation. Supposedly the have been working in this place for 10 years but there are very few comments out there (other than the ones on thier website). They havent quoted a price for services yet but im thinking (by reading articles) they will be wanting a few thousand with no gurentee... I know, if it quacks like a duck.... But if they HAVE been in business for 10 years and if bogus you would think they would have been shut down... Just wondering if I should even bother with the second meeting...???

Headhunters: Are they the answer?

About 6 moths ago I wrote an article asking how long it takes to secure a new position. Here is the link to that article https://skiptraceconsultant.wordpress.com/2016/04/26/how-long-does-it-take/. Do you know that I have not gotten one response?

I have had the opportunity to speak with headhunters and some have been very kind and some, I could leave messages for and they do not respond. I had the opportunity to speak with someone recently and she made some very interesting points about what employers want.

Longevity on the job - I have had longevity with several companies and am seeking my final stop.
A resume should be no more than one page.
There should not be any job hopping unless it can be explained.

The collection industry is a volitle one. Many people will get terminated or leave for one reason or another.

I am not a job hopper a my humble opinion all though my resume might show otherwise. I spent 6 1/2 years with American Express, 6 1/2 years with Receivables Specialist, Inc, 3 1/2 years with Phillips and Cohen, Ltd, 3 1/2 years with Thompson and Associates, P.C. In my humble opinion that is longevity. I also have a wealth of knowledge.

Skiptrace Consultants, Inc has been around over 10 years. That is longevity as well. Some of the companies I have invested my time in were under-capitalized and therefore closed. Some companies I found to be violating the law. No one need to run the risk of getting into serious trouble. Another company the principle unfortunately landed himself in a prison cell. Certain things are explainable.

I was recently being considered for 2 positions because I have an excellent reputation. One company decided not to go further with the project that I would have been a part of. Another company decided to hire another individual. Why, I do not know.

Many companies will offer a commission only. That alone is a turn off this day in age. People need to feel secure and know that they can cover expenses. Why would someone take a position and work for free in the hopes that they will get paid?

Now how much longer will it take? My resume is located at http://sbtresume.weebly.com. Please feel free to call me at 954-290-6976.

There is a PDF copy of my resume that you can download. I am willing to travel worldwide for a company. I am willing to relocate as well.

Employee Poaching Question?

How can I check if violating any competitive agreements with my job? I work in IT for a nationally recognized company and for the past few months I have been approached with emails and phone calls from recruiters for another rival or competitor company’s offering me a job opportunities. At first I though the contacts were scams or company insiders testing employee loyalty as a result of the volatile and highly competitive market for qualified IT professionals so I was hesitant. I discovered after many back and forth conversations that the potential offer is real but I’m still holding back in fear of violating my employee contract agreement with my current employer. How can I verify this without tipping off my employer that I’m looking into other jobs?

Potential Employers & Recruiters Requesting Personal Information Way Too Soon

When searching for jobs, during the application phase, even before being contacted for an interview, I have had potential employers and recruiters request personal information such as my full Social Security number, my full birth date, my home address and other personal information. Over the past several years this is happening a lot more frequently with recruiters and human resource departments requesting this information and often times, a web page for applying for a job requesting this information. I politely decline because I refuse to give out this information when the employer has no right to this information until you are actually hired. I get mixed reactions from the employers and recruiters, from surprise to telling me that they cannot move forward with my application without the information. Is this happening to anyone else? How do you handle this situation?

Advice, thoughts, suggestions.. Help please?!

So I am employed and not actively seeking any other opportunities at the moment. Though, I have recently been contacted by a few employers offering work unaware that I am not seeking anything. I guess my info is still available to view on some employment search engines.

So anyway.. Some peaked my interest and now I am open minded to them especially since I see my company doesn't allow for growth. I forwarded my resume to a few of the companies who reached out.

All were interested which made me feel great! 2 of 3 ended up hiring within but still asked to keep me on file as the feedback from their superiors found me very capable for possible future positions. Which yeah is wonderful but really disappointing at the moment because it would be such a huge step in career and financially for me.

There is that 1 other opportunity where I was asked to interview and did back in the beginning of this month. It went very well and felt confident afterwards. This company I interviewed for has hired a recruiter for their search and is the one who reached out to me for the opportunity on their behalf.

I was and am excited for the opportunity. Also this was before I knew about the other employers hiring within. So anyways I was anxious with excitement after and followed up 2-3 days after with the recruiter. She informed me that they are still deciding and are really busy with meetings and such they haven't got around to it, that she will hope to speak with the lady who interviewed me in a couple days.

It seemed reasonable to me and also I could see from when I was there how big of a company they are and how busy they are. They have numerous locations throughout the states. So all this made sense. Well I didn't hear from the recruiter after a week so I again followed up with her last Tues and she thanked me for following up but that she still hadn't heard back due to how busy they are with meetings and colleagues flying in etc. that she will call me on Wednesday and let me know. After I got off the phone with her, the recruiter. I realized the next day was Wednesday and wasn't sure if she meant that Wednesday or the following which was this most recent Wednesday.

Either way I still haven't heard anything. I'm getting super anxious and nervous. I just want to hear something either way. I also don't want to be annoying. Some might say if they were interested I would have known by now.. What do y'all think? I'm thinking and hoping for the best of course and thinking that they are super busy and haven't had a chance yet to decide.. Maybe they are waiting on a final decision from someone else idk The recruiter didn't sound negative.

I felt a genuine sense of they are busy and I'm sure she herself is as well with her own work. What should I do? Do you think if I call again to the recruiter it is too much or should I just call the lady directly who interviewed me?? Any input I would appreciate, thanks so much in advance! :)

Working MoM Desperate for Change….

I've been back to work from maternity leave almost 7 months now and I’m already fed up with this place!! I hate the amount of time I spend away from my daughter working extra hours to pick up the slack left behind by indifferent coworkers. My commute to work is also eating up allot of precious time I could be spending playing and nurturing my daughter. I feel she gonna despise me for this when she get’s older! I’m a single parent so I honestly can afford to quit my job and stay at home but I can’t help daydreaming about a perfect work-life balance. I found a few job opportunities closer to home, with less hours, and more flexibility but I’m overqualified for the work and fear not being considered a serious candidate for any of those jobs openings. I thought about making myself more marketable via a cover letter but do you think recruiters still read cover letters anymore? Help!!

head hunters

Can anyone explain why I am receiving six phone calls from the same "head hunting" agency regarding a particular job that I have applied for. During the phone calls I have been asked to re submit my resume, up date this, up date that. Every question I have been asked has been clearly stated on my resume. Then I have been told that my resume would be forwarded to the company in question which I have applied for. At that point I would be receiving another email for a time and location for a interview. I have yet to receive a email for a interview time and location. I have sent a email to the "head hunting" company instructing them to stop all phone calls and emails unless they are sending me a interview invite with a time and location. Any thoughts any one? I am tired of people wasting my time and not reading my resume. Which by the way is clearly written and professionally completed.
