Rude recruiter and wasted my time

Just to start my daily rant, please beware of Kim Wilson, she's very rude, she left me a message telling me to call her back on a job opportunity. I gave her a call 2 hours later, while I was on the phone, she started coughing on the phone loudly, I understand if she was sick and she told me she will call me back in a couple of minutes. Waiting for 20 minutes passed, I decided to call her back, she answered, she was like, I only have 5 minutes but go ahead and tell me about your technical background. So I gave her my job history, experience, certifications, etc. I also mentioned that I'm currently employed as a temporary at a School District as their PC tech. She interrupted, "sorry but none of these are the requirements that we are looking for and you work for a school as a PC Tech, you're not qualified for this position?" So I was kind of dumbfounded and was shock hearing all this BS from her, so I asked her, "what is your definition of a perfect candidate for a Tech Support??? because most of my background involves working with PC and helping customers with their issues with PC?" she said "A Technician who helps customers issues with PC "and" software!" I'm like uhhh you can't work a PC without a software, so I should have strong knowledge with troubleshooting software as well. I told her, thanks for just wasting my time and just hanged up....

GHOSTED by a recruiter!!

I’m just so confused right now. A week ago I got a message on LinkedIn from a recruiter specializing in my industry asking to speak with me over the phone. I replied back within the hour and we set up a time to talk the next day. The next day comes and I leave work and find a quiet space and wait for him to call me. And wait. And wait. Finally he sends me a message on LinkedIn “Sorry, I’ve been pulled into a meeting. Can we reschedule?”

Ok, so I’m a little annoyed but it happens so I understand. I definitely make sure to be friendly and understanding when I reply. I also ask him what time works best for him, since I have a pretty flexible schedule. Then I wait for a reply. And wait. And wait some more. By the next afternoon I’m wondering if I said something wrong, but then I look back at our chat log and I can’t find any instance where I said anything even slightly offensive. So I message him back suggesting that I’d be free at around 3:30pm if that works for him. Then I wait.

That was last Thursday and since then I have heard NOTHING from this guy. I feel like I’m going crazy. I look at the conversation and I can see no reason why he would want to drop me like that. And the things that bugs me the most is that HE contacted ME! Why contact someone out of the blue if you’re going to drop them like a hot potato the moment they show interest? And what else can I do? I have already sent two follow-up messages which he hasn’t replied to yet. Do I just keep sending him messages every few days? I’m sure that’s bound to get annoying for both of us. Anyways, I came here to vent, but also to ask if this type of thing has happened to anyone else. I have the feeling that I might not be alone here….

Missed call

I have had no luck with any applications I have been submitting. I finally got a call back but missed the call. I called the recruiter back the same day as soon as I heard the voicemail and I got her voicemail and left a voicemail. No return call. I called the next day left a message. No call back. I called and left a third message but still have not received a call back. I don't want to sound like I am desperate but should I try one more time or just consider this a loss?

Contract Positions that are not necessarily Contract to Hire - Looking for Recruiters that specifically handle??

Hello everyone, I'm looking for assistance please, in attempting to locate a Recruiter in my area, which is near Joliet, IL (60436), that handles Contract positions, not necessarily Contract to Hire. My reasoning, is that although I've been lucky enough to have several interviews, I've yet to find that perfect "match", and quite frankly I'm running out of time, (my unemployment ends September 30th), so at this point, the way I see it is, I have one of two options. The first being to take any job, even if it does not meet and or match my qualifications, or what I'm truly hoping to do, is to work a Contract job, that offers 3-6 months of employment, where I could still continue to interview for my "dream" job, without losing everything I've worked so hard to get. So if anyone out there knows of a Recruiter that specializes in offering Contract job opportunities, near my home in Joliet, IL (60436), please kindly forward me their information. In the meantime, I also wanted to Thank all of the Jobcase members that have been forwarding job opportunites to me, I truly do appreciate your assistance, and support. TY!

Odd email from "recruiter"?

I got an email this morning that starts with this: "Our Company is getting back to you regarding application on a Careers job-site We have found that you fit our conditions for position of Regional Director of Procurement."

Way cool, except I'm a programmer with a lot of application support experience. Nothing in my resume screams Procurement.

Additionally, in the job description, they have this interesting duty: "Do inventory control and provide clerical help as needed". This seems an interesting duty to include with develop long-term strategic plans and monitor a team of Procurement Managers.

I'm guessing this is some scam to get more information about me, but my resume is openly available and I'm getting desperate to find work, so I replied. Thoughts?
