Hired!

I didn't know I'd love it until I was doing this.... Recruiting. Helping people get back to work, find work, write a resume, start off with their first work experience. Being a part of that has been very meaningful to me. I'm very thankful.

Do you need a recruiter or contract manager?

I was in charge of contracts for a time with Marathon Foto. Sold services to then fledgling LA Marathon. Had fifty five other clients to service.

The right fit

After my first interview I was told by a recruiter that I was a good fit. But they had one more candidate to look at. Now I'm told that the other candidate is a better fit. Would it have anything to do with the fact that I am over 60 yrs of age???

Recruiting and buzz words

Recruiting used to be an art. Now companies have outside recruiters list jobs for months and months and even years. In that time they get thousands of applicants and use the hired recruiters with their computers to scan the appls for the buzz words. They do that to thin the herd. In this shuffle the best applicants get lost. So they keep the job listed for more months. The whole thing is dysfunctional to say the least. Internet is great but we just have to know enough "not to throw the baby out with the bath water." That is exactly what has been done with the case of recruiting. That is not recruiting at all.

How do I find a headhunter/recruiter?

How do I find the appropriate headhunter or recruiter that can sell my skills. A person that actually sees me as a commodity and is willing to get me into the right interviews; not just see me as a commission?
