Recruiting Manager
We are Hiring!!!

Salary Range
I applied for a job and got a call back. When I talked to the recruiter we talked about my salary and what I was looking for and he also told me the range for this position. They are looking for 0-2years experience. I have those 2 years experience. The position is basically what I am doing now so I know what Im doing. I also had my phone interview with the hiring manager. He said he really liked me wanted me to come in for the panel interview. He is traveling now so Im waiting on him to come back. SO long story short...since I have the experience should I asked for the top pay or just come in in the middle??

Out of Work 2 years, Options?
I have been out of work for a little over 2 years now. My previous position was outsourced. After my position ended, I re-opened my IT Service business, having done work on an off for these 2 years, I have yet to receive substantial work that would allow me to continue this business. Many companies are not willing to spend money and unfortunately, without an income the difficult decision to suspend my business has come.
I have re-written my resume 2x in the past several months. A few interviews here and there but no offers.
Recruiters do not get back to me, they do not follow-up even after a resume has been sent or an email. Not sure what else I can do.

"Apply on our website." -- Recruiter-ese for "get lost"?
I've always wondered about this. Actually get someone to answer the phone and talk to you, and this is the usual response. Is it simply Recruiter-ese for "shut up and leave me alone"?

Job interview without an interview
When you sit for an interview for less than five minutes without being asked any question related to the purpose of the interview, qualifies for an interview without an interview. There are two reasons for that. 1. The interviewer is not an expert in your field of interest.. 2. They are a third party recruiting group wasting your desperate time to earn a commission on the numbers of job seekers invited for an interview..

Estate Manager
Why do recruiters give out false hope? I have been looking for a new position for a few months, and talked with several recruiters around the country. In our initial conversations, the response is very positive regarding my resume, and they are saying that their clients are looking for someone like myself. They send my resume to them, and when I follow up a few days or a week later, I typically don't get a peep out of them. If there is something in my work history that disqualifies me for a position, just tell me instead of giving me a reason to think I may be a good candidate. Why do recruiters do this? Just be upfront, so I can move on to another opening. Thoughts?

the only sinner I know is me ...
Just recently, I was laid off 8 week ago from a large aircraft manufacturing company after 25 plus years. I have applied for numerous jobs and positions in the aerospace industry and have been interacting over 25 with HR rep, talent coordinators and recruiters. In my last preliminary interview for a job with a recruiter, I performed badly by complaining and blaming others for my failure to get a job in the past 8 weeks. I unnecessary whine, moaned and groan and took my frustrations on a recruiter that was trying to help me. My mistake was compound by lack of empathy for these recruiters whom were trying to help me getting a job in the UAV world. During the interview over the phone, my wife was present and immediately after the phone conversation was over, my wife stated that I sounded pitifully, self-righteous and sanctimonious to a recruiter that was trying to help. Five minutes pasted, another recruited called and stated the same thing my wife had expressed to me. These recruiters were doing their job. They doing their best to help me. They are not jerks, or mean people. The only person that acted like a jerk was me and my lack of empathy. I apologist for my rude conduct and very sorry in taking out my plight on an innocent person My response should have been asking for the responsibilities and duties of this position and thank them

Recruiters and Networking
When I started looking for a new job, I made a mistake, I didn't take time to talk to the recruiters who were contacting me about contract positions. I didn't want to consider those jobs, so I just didn't take the time to talk to them. Maybe, if I had spent some time talking to them, just maybe, I might have found something sooner, or at least develop some good Networking Contacts.
Well, a few months into looking, I finally woke up and started talking to some of those recruiters. When I applied for jobs, every now and then, I would get an independent recruiter contact me. On some of those calls, after finding that I may not be the best fit for the position they were trying to fill, some of them asked if they could forward my information if they find something I might be a good fit for. Who says no to that? Why would you say no? Luckily, I didn't say no. Well, here's another problem, I can't find their information. I have misplaced it, and I'm hoping I didn't lose it completely. Why is this important?
One day, as I'm packing our household goods, preparing to move to Florida, still without a job, I get an email from someone. He wants to talk to me about a job. I was a bit puzzled, as I did not remember applying for this position. I asked him more about the position. He thought it odd that I didn't know anything about a job that I applied for. Long story Short, it seems that shortly after he posted the job, it seems someone sent him my information. He said the job was posted for the Atlanta area. Well, I knew for sure I didn't apply for it, but it hit me, that one of the recruiters I talked to must have sent him my information.
I wish I could find my contact information, so I could contact those recruiters, because he didn't know who it was, and I never got a notice from anyone that they sent my information in. The moral of the story, take time to talk to those recruiters, even if you don't get the job they are trying to fill. You never know, you might wind up getting a call one day, out of the blue.
I want to thank my mysterious recruiter, if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be starting an awesome job with a GREAT company, Snap-on Industrial. I'm their new Product Specialist - Technical Support.
Oh, by the way, my last job, yup, a recruiter called me up, and it led to a great job, where I worked for almost 7 years. I only left so that we could move closer to family.

Side Door
The recruiting process is broken!!! I’ve spent hundreds of hours completing online applications and personality tests in an attempt to get in through the front door at a company “claiming” to be hiring engineers. My networking pool has also run dry. Everyone I know working in this field is tied up trying to remain competitive and busy trying keep their own jobs to think about helping anyone else. Someone suggested replacing my cover letter with a pain letter. Not sure exactly what a pain letter entails but at this point I'm willing to try anything different as long as it helps me land a job. Anyone have any success getting to the interview round of a job opening using a pain letter?

Administrative Assistant / Accounts Payable - Baltimore, Maryland
DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR A JOB !!!!! IN COLUMBIA, GWYNN OAK, GLEN BURNIE, LINTHICUM, OWINGS MILLS, CATONSVILLE, PIKESVILLE AND SURROUNDING AREAS .........
I worked for a well known hotel for 21 years. I thought I would be retiring from Marriott. One day a got a call to go to H/R and they quickly informed me that my job was eliminated. No effort was made to place me in another department as I should have been. 2 months after being let go, I got a job. After 8 months, I took them to court for harassment. Since, I was able to get 2 part time jobs making a lot less money. I have not been able to find a full time job since the harassment job. I have worked with many recruiters, submitted applications on-line and I have even lowered my pay by $5.00 an hour and I still can not find a full time job. When I go on interviews , They praise my resume, the response back to the recruiters are promising and at the end ........they offer the position to someone else. This is horrible!!!!!!!! Thank you for your time in this matter.
