Qualification, experience... My advice

I have learned that you can't always keep applying for jobs that are in your criteria on your resume. I've had people inform me that I'm to qualified or it's not a bachelor degree but with my degrees combined and college credits I basically have almost a master's degree. Companies see what they want to see not what your qualifications will allow you. It's hard getting your foot in a door with 1,000 others applying for the same job or career. I would recommend if you have put your heart into job searching maybe think outside the box. If you have office qualities you can work as a restaurant manager, a banker, administration Assistant, and so much more. Companies only care about your history and age if your not resume isn't to their specfs you might want to sugar coat your resume maybe your missing something on it and that would have helped you get your position that you wanted. My advice keep trying out of every 100 applications you put in you may get 3 calls so keep hustling to find that perfect job or career...

Hopefull and determined

I was let go of my last job 12/15/17, five days before my birthday and ten days before Christmas on unfair charges. I had near perfect attendance for 8 months only one day legally sick. I have been looking for work since then. I am convinced that most employers DO discriminate against Age and Disability. Many jobs I have applied for in which I have qualifications for, even some I was interviewed for went to someone else. But I am still trusting in my Lord Jesus to provide for my needs. I pray that your correct employment needs will be met very soon!

Unsure

Whenever I try to get a job, even if someone tells me I am one of the most qualified, they do not hire me. It is discouraging. I have applied everywhere and nothing. One place even told me they were desperate, but it has been almost two weeks.

Seeking employment

I recently came to live in the US and am seeking employment. For the last 16 years, I was managing a company called Lynx Zambia Limited which I incorporated and build to its current state. Lynx Zambia is a beverage manufacturing company (whose website is www.lynxbeverages.com). Before then, I was an H R Manager (1991 to 1998) Corporate Affairs Manager (1998- 2000) and General Manager (2001-2002) for Lyons Zambia Limited. I realize that this experience might count for nothing here so I will take any offer that will come. I intend to acquire some College Education here to supplement my qualifications.

Anyone have any experience with Worksteps pre-employment physical?

I have been working for a staffing company and am in the process of being hired on permantly. Made it through all the hoops except the physical. I do not have the results yet but my screener made the comment that my cardio level is poor. I know I am a bit out of shape I work long hours overnight so I have very little time to even sleep. I am performing my duties with no issues what so ever the job I am being offered is the one that I am currently doing. Now I am slightly stressed because I have no idea if having poor cardio is going to lose this job for me, and with my partner being laid off this is how I am paying my bills. Has anyone had this test what is your experience?

Up a creek...?

I received a Master's in Education and one in non profit management back in 2011. Since then I have focused on education. As a result, I have very little back office non profit experience.

In addition to networking, I need to fix my resume to reflect my transferable skills, however, I can't afford the hundreds of dollars it costs for a professional.

Anyone have suggestions or leads?

Need Help !

I have a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from a French speaking country in Africa. I came in the USA through the green card after I resigned from NESTLE Ivory Coast in 2012 as a Project Engineer. All the applications as Mechanical/Project Engineer that I did were denied since I came here. If I get a Master's degree in Engineering Management, do I have a chance to have a skilled job? Note: I have 7 years experience as a Project Engineer

Thanks for your help.

What job title would the following job traits fall under? -create conversation starter questions -ask the difficult questions to receive honest and open feedback to better understanding of the world around us -assist/mentor those who need someone to listen to them -use communication skills to help make the world a better place

Sounds sort of like journalism to me... What do you guys think?
