In a corporate structure who determines your potential?
I have been told by my manager that if I get my promotion, that will as far as you will ever go with this company, don't waste your time getting a Masters degree, or pursue a better position. took offence to the notion that HE determines my potential, not any of the other 2,800 employees or myself. Do I need to look for a different job?

Hello everyone!!
My question is how do I get my manager to stop messing around and put me in the position I originally applied for? I interviewed for the pharmacy technician position and was told it would have to be up front until the transition of the new pharmacy manager took place. It's been four months ago and Everytime I ask about my position it's excuses. I even took it upon myself to talk to the district manager and he doing the same exact thing. What should I do?! I put in applications to other stores but I really don't want to up and quit.

Working at Publix Supermarkets
Anybody work / worked for Publix Supermarket? They are rated as one of the top 100 places to work for in the USA and they promote themselves as a company that has a good amount of advancement opportunities for employees. Can anyone elaborate on this and what they've seen regarding this. Also it seems like in the supermarket industry they hire everyone as part time at a low rate. Then is seems they convert the best to full time & possibly higher rate? Anyone have experience with that? Thank you for responses...

How fast could a person move up in your company by starting at the bottom?
What is your starting rate?

Hello to All!!! I would just like to say thank you to those who send me jobs to view. I have gone through a lot in a year and finally found a decent job that I don't mind doing and have come to enjoy doing. I have recieved two raises since I have been with this new company and now have the new position of Lead Janitor. It may not be what exactly I was looking for, but I'm grateful for how lucky i was to land this job. So thank you guys for your encouraging words and the time you take out of your day to send out jobs. I appreciate it. To the rest of you, i hope you all find something even if it may not be what exactly you want. Good luck and stay on your grind!

What I loved about my last job....
I loved the people I worked with the most! I went above and beyond expectations of my job. I was the very first female to do a lot of different jobs bc I loved the competition that it felt like I was experiencing and knocking down walls showing that a woman can do the job just as well as a man and sometimes better. I moved up to a Team Leader position after I got a job as an operator overseeing 9 employees as we worked as a team to get gas line that was heat treated out the door to meet our deadlines. I enjoyed moving up as a Team Leader bc I enjoyed helping people. When new people would come in I would show them the proper way of doing their job and make sure they were not overworking themselves by doing extra work by being scared. I eased their minds and went over safety bc Safety is first and foremost the biggest thing in working in any field especially in a factory. I wanted to go home to my family and I wanted them to go home safely as well. Second was quality of or product. I wanted to show them what to look for and to be sure we were sending out the best to our customers. The employees though were the best of my job bc I love interacting with people and making sure they are not only doing the job right but that they are comfortable as well as safe!
