Why

Laid off union worker after 14.5 years in the warehouse auto manufacturing industry. Why is it so hard to find any similar work that pays better than 10.00 an hour . I'm so tired of interviewing just to hear sorry but your over qualified. Should that be up to me not them. Not sure what my next step is. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong or should be doing is welcomed.

6 months looking

I have been looking for a job for 6 months now, I am in IT and have 18+ years of experience and apparently employers here in San Diego want to pay little to no money for positions so they say I am over qualified, I need a job to pay bills and these HR people won't hire me because they want to pay an intern 20 dlls an hour for a job that is worth 25 or 30, this is getting extremely frustrating, I get interviews and I never hear back from them, I get no feedback to help me on search and most are stupid excuses.

I always wondered how people lose their mind and get to low points, now I know.

Overqualified

I have been out of work for over a year. I have a Bachelors in Business Administration and IT, with some Graduate work.. and I can't find a job.

I have had numerous people tell me that they didn't want to hire me because they felt I was overqualified and would leave.

At what point do I leave education and experience off of my resume?

4 month's and angry

It's been 4months since I was fired. I believe I was fired because I was not well liked by the new manager that came on board. I have changed my resume numerous times. I get callbacks for interview but can't get a job to say the magic words your hired. I have 22 years of experience in the credit union and banking industry and feel utterly broken.

To start the I was hired understanding I had zero mortgage/commercial lending or understanding of the required insurance. I was trained in increments which would be fine but it was erratic learn part c to go back learn part a. My hiring manager was in and out due to medical issues. When she left in March of 2018 for another medical issue my department merged with another department. The new manager for 3 months never spoke to me said she would sit to see what I did...but would make an excuse. Then the harrasment... or bullying began. The first time started when she had a meeting with a third party vendor which she a one hour meeting on their procedures and when she called me in I dealt with 2 hours of her screaming not even talking. When I would try to speak she would belittle me. The next day she called the third party vendor and began to ask if I was competent with open doors so the whole department to hear. She came to my station and ranted for 1 hour. At the end of the day I reported to HR. Their response was we would prefer to tell our employees to work it out. Several weeks later she finally decided to sit with me . When the day came she called out of the office. She asked for certain reports to be done with her. I had mentioned that I would be out of the office for 2 days due to medical procedure. And she was also going to be out upon my arrival I did the reports since I was the only person who did these reports to avoid un warranted letters and calls from the third party to the borrower's i completed them and made sure i was advanced in all my work. When she came back the bullying and harrassment was all day to the witness of the whole 2nd floor . She screamed in front of everyone for 2 hours at me. Everytime I tried to defend my position she would cut me off and continue to belittle me. Then an additional 4 hours of the same treatment closed doors but everyone heard it still. My coworkers ran to get the VP of operations which he heard it. And HR who was not there came in she was reprimanded. The next day I was sick with a migraine headache and HR told me to go home. I was asked what was my next steps . I was frank and told her legal if it could not be resolved. Two weeks later after the conversation I was terminated.

I have tried to be positive do not speak ill of my previous employers. Although I hope the spawn of medusa trips and falls flat on her bottom. But in the end I'm still without work . I have exhausted all my finances. Nothing. I pray I get a job soon for the sake of my son who depends on me. But I dont know what else to do. I have watched you tube videos read articles. Over qualified under qualified reject letter ...holidays are soon and then what.

Never give up

Three years ago I lost my way in life and walked a very dark path alone. When my little girl passed away I gave up on absolutely everything. Before then I had great jobs did some college and raised my kids alone. I loved my life and enjoyed my work. After my dark path though getting a job has been next to impossible. I know I can be a great asset to a company with my management skills and warehouse skills. I just wish I could find that job I can support and put my skills to use. Having people judge me and my worth on my recent background is so frustrating and makes things so difficult. But I know God has a purpose for me and have to keep up my positive attitude and energy. I sure wouldn't want my kids to have that type of person for a roll model.

Over qualified and a senior citizen

I have been trying to get a job in the Houston area for the past year. I tried before in the New Orleans area for over a year. I've always held increasingly responsible positions. I have received awards for my hard work and dedication. I have worked for Members of Congress, Boeing, and other major companies and ran my husband's Snap-on Tools business when he became ill and eventually died. Other than clerical and seasonal positions since, I have been unable to get a position since I was 55. If I am willing to work and qualified for positions and even if I am over qualified and would be an asset, why can't I find a position? I have to eat, and live. I have a lot to give. Getting desperate.

My Mother passed in June of this year

She died in my arms unexpectly, congested heart failure. I am devastated as her caretaker. Im still trying to get footing on my life, where i want to live, and a descent paying job to support myself totally. Jobs here paying way below living standards n then have a nerve to credit check for a reliable job/career. The system so backwards. Im skilled, degreed, retired from 30 yr career, experiences in multi fields. I sum it up im over qualified n recruiters affraid ima take their jobs so they pass me over with lame excuses.
