Over-educated, under experienced
I decided a few years ago to retire from my Nursing career and become a Minister. After four more years of college, I cannot find an opening in the Ministry, so I decided to go back into nursing. Guess what? no recent experience ( I had 22 years). I now have eight years of college, so I am overqualified to work in fast food or deliver pizza's, but have no experience in either career.

What am I doing wrong?
I have been out of work since the week of Christmas. I cannot get anyone to call me back. What could I be doing wrong. I need some serious help. I have several years of PM experience, and some people have told me before that I have too much experience. What does that mean? I can't help the experience I have accumulated throughout the years. I need a job like yesterday. I feel like giving up at times.

Too Much education
A friend can't get hired and was told to remove her Master's Degree from her resume and her chances would get better. Any ideas? Is this normal now?

Aggrivated
I have been a store manager for over 25 years and was replaced with someone making less than half of my salary. Over the past seven months I have applied to so many jobs and turned down before even getting as interview. I'm being told I'm over qualified for the positions. I'm so confused as to why I can't even get an interview to discuss anything

No luck
Hi, my name is Dereke I have applied for well over 100 different jobs in West Virginia with no luck I have had several calls with people telling me I am over qualified. What does that even mean?

Previous Owners Not wanted
I had a job lined up doing mail order (I need the Xtra cash and I like the company)
I have about seven years in production / mail order but suddenly I got the call I was turned down. Why? I had owned my own company. I was 'over qualified' & wasn't even given a chance, after earlier getting the job from a temp agency! Owners of small businesses work their tails off - I feel this was a case of prejudice rather than a rational decision.
Oh yeah, thanks everyone in Portland Oregon for keeping the wages low and positions grueling. I know we've had an influx of people, but the market out there is insane.

Mr. David Rothwell
Just finished my masters in counseling but can't find a job. I refuse to work for 10 dollars an hour. I'm over qaulified for most jobs. So frustrating!!!!. I'm a born again Christian so I know will make a way where there is no way.

Too much experience
After working for myself and having made in the 100k vicinity as a 20 something ,I think it is turning off possible employers, due too the fact they feel I'm gonna end up putting the guy interviewing me out of work or won't accept 12$hour jobs !TIME TO STOP BRINGING MY A GAME TO INTERVIEWS ITS HURTING ME !!

Over educated??
I seem to be in a position where finding another Nursing position closer to home is near to impossible! I am one semester away from finishing my MSN in Nursing Leadership, I have years of experience in the peri-operative department, but no one is looking at my resume! Am I over qualified...should I dumb down my resume? I just want to work closer to my home and not drive 2.5 hours a day. Any suggestions would be welcome.

What does it mean to be "Qualified" for the job, but then don't get it
Have many of you experienced the frustration of being qualified for a particular job, even perhaps over-qualified. And either you get selected for an interview and the interview goes extremely well, but don't get selected for the position? Or perhaps. not even getting selected for an interview?
