Copy editing is my passion; it is what I love to do. I started my career as a copy editor but left after 8 years to be a stay-at-home mom.

Right now, in addition to proofing cardiologists’ office notes full time, I am also freelancing part time, heavily editing Chinese students’ college essays (students in China who want to go to college in the US). I also just started proofing some of Carnegie Learning’s math modules, for teachers.

I have years of administrative assistant/receptionist/front desk/clerical experience and have spent the past 18 months working as a medical editor. I am looking to either supplement my income or find a new position as a copy editor.

I am very comfortable on a PC with any and all software, especially all Microsoft Office products, as well as Google Docs and Sheets, and am a fast, accurate typist (over 70 wpm). I am friendly and polite and a fast learner. I am extremely detail oriented, very organized, used to working under tight deadlines and a great multitasker.

I started my career as a copy editor for PC Magazine, WINDOWS Magazine as well as Travel-Holiday, and Changing Homes magazines. I wrote for all those magazines, in addition to editing. I have also worked as a copy editor for RFID Journal and for the American Institute of Physics’ scientific journals.

More recently, I freelanced as a reporter for the Times Beacon Record family of newspapers, writing mainly for the Times of Huntington/Northport.

I was also the editor for Half Hollow Hills Patch for a year and a half, where I posted 4 articles daily, 7 days a week. I wrote most of them, but I also had some freelance writers who assisted me. I am published as Karen Forman.

Hello I’m Ayo, new to this and looking to make friends while making extra income. I moved from Milwaukee this winter, currently working in the IT industry as an Engineer and Administrator. Not sure what to expect but if there’s a challenge I’m down to conquer it, I know this is a place for winners and willing to learn how to win majorly. Hope this helps, Ibukun.
