Bummed

I'm An intelligent person I learn very easily, my problem is I've only had one job. It lasted for 9 years, so I have no experience in anything other than serving/waitressing.... no one is willing to train me for anything other than serving. I Can't afford to pay my school loans so that I can go back to school for something, because I am a mother to four small children and as soon as I have a dollar it's already owed out. That's why I had to quit college.... I am in desperate need of work but I want to do something other than serving in a restaurant... I want a future, a good future doing something my children one day will be proud of...

Broken finances.

This is more of a why question, why is it that people are attacking other people's homes by breaking their financial income. And then after they do such moments later others, running in telling the recently unemployed you need to get a job you need to talk to someone so you need to do this you need to do that etc etc etc. it's not due to our inability of doing the job and completing the task it's not due to the fact of us being incompetent. It is due to the simple fact all of them being evil nasty and wicked with no regards at all do the damage that they cause to their fellow human beings existence. I'm still regrouping from that one company if my co-workers which primarily were female didn't want me assigned to the department then wouldn't it have been more humane to transfer me to a different department. But unfortunately WinCo is not a humane organization, and it's just undeniably just believable that with all of the laws that they say we have nobody goes by them. Today mom opened up that very sensitive can of worms about the employment issue I had already done what she suggested I do I have contacted to lawyers, I took it up with the Oregon state employment office oh, I took it up with the labor board and even WinCo's corporate human resource department. The outcome of all of it was not one freaking damn thing has been done. It's not an issue of it being fair it's the issue that it was wrong and illegal. And then it is suggested that I seek counseling? What is going to be solved if I go see a counselor and explain and tell of what had happened and what had gone on I'm sorry but I don't have a job opening for a counselor I was able to figure out all by myself that there are evil wicked nasty people out there that relish and nothing other than causing others grief aggravation indescribable stress and my suggestion is do back to them, give them a healthy dose or what they've been dishing out and see how well they enjoy it. This is the person me that you have repeatedly broken my household finances without giving one goddamn hit you of the fact I'm just as much human as you.

You make more during the day

Weekend days are the busiest at Sonic and where I make the most tips. I thought night, but nope. Also, on days that there are specials going on, you have more of an opportunity to sell and give customers a good experience. The happier they are the happier you will be trust me.

Should I ask for a raise -UPDATE

Thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions on my previous post. I have made a decision and thought I would share.

Even though I have been with the company for 3 years, this is the first year I have been doing the job I was hired for. If we make all of our production and shipping goals we will get a bonus in November. So, I have decided to wait to see if we get the bonus - that will give me a little more leverage.

Our review process will start in September and they are discussed in December, so I will bring up the raise then. Especially if we get the bonus.

That's where my head is now.

Frustrated and Discouraged

I have applied to over 300 companies for nearly a year now and I've only gotten just a handful of bites. And after the few interviews I did receive the only explanation I was given was an email the next day saying although my resume and experience we're very impressive, they decided to move forward with another candidate. I have one Bachelor's degree in Psychology, another Bachelor's degree in Journalism with Mass Communications and a Creative Writing Diploma and I am still unable to find gainful employment. I feel as if all of my education is just a huge waste of time, effort and money, because none of them are doing me any good. I had even contemplated continuing my education to attain either my Master's and/or Doctorate in Psychology, however that would mean 4 yo 6 more years of college, which I already have 6 years under my belt. Also 2 years of internship upon graduation. Not to mention I will be in debt in excess of $100,000 or more in student loans after completion. None of the companies I've applied for that are in the areas of my degrees want to hire me because I don't have enough experience, and the entry-level companies don't want to hire me because I have too much education. So basically I"ve falling into a crack and can't get out. In the meantime my bills are piling up and I'm struggling to pay them. I've attended webinars, revised my resume several times, taken online tutoring classes for more experience, and I've read everything I possibly can on acing the interview to no avail. I just don't know what to do. I feel as if I'm drowning and can't be saved.

Nice day

Leadership is hard to swallow. I can imagine a company that puts the interest of its customers and it's employees upbove it's own. Yes ur interest matters too. But what about team work and being equals as a family on the same page. These things Idk what to say. What do these companies really want. If money is so important to any of us why not replicate it?. Why does it matter? I want to hear the real story don't you?

Are you working a job you love or are just working to pay bills?

Life is mostly consumed by what we do for a living. Are you working in a field you love? I have met people that hate their job and continue being stressed out because of this. I feel freedom is important in a job and growth. Do you feel your job provides this for you and are you happy in life with your career choices?

Bull Sh*t

I have been looking for a job for last four months and get turn down at the final stage. I have over ten experience in higher education. I am so desperate now and I will do anything (even so bad) to have some income coming in. I have a big family to support. I am running out of time. I do not want to hear it something better out there. It’s not! Praying about it not working.

Employer holding me back from work

So I felt better from my sickness meaning asthma last week and then I emailed my employer to let him know that I would be ready to come back to work this week and tells me no wait until next week or beyond. I'm trying to make ends meet, I'm not trying to be lazy/sorry plus I had always been a hard, smart worker. Plus I'm not trying to depend on anybody else for income. Knowing my employer he's trying to cut my hours down because of the recent sickness or he's trying to find a way to get rid of me. Some people who worked there didn't let him know when they would come to work or even wanted to come back . At least I try to make effort to try to work there no matter what.

Finally got hired.

Finally got hired after 2 years. Over 550 applications and endless interviews. The past 2 years have been difficult and hard. Went thru all my saving and my husband's income was all we had to get us thru. But i'm glad to be given a chance to work in the field I truly love.
