Just My Thoughts!
As a job seekers continue looking for work you will notice plenty of companies are hiring for Cleaning Services? As a person who currently owns a Cleaning Business and works in the healthcare field I thought I would comment on this topic? I currently host a group on linked in and connected to over 5000 Business Owners in the Cleaning field. Therefore having direct contact with them I am able to keep up with the concerns? Here are Some Answers to Questions You Might Have?
Q: Why would I want work in the cleaning industry these days? A: My answer to this question is this: As a business owner, I take pride in protecting my employees and staff? Myself included. We supply all employees with disposable gloves, eye protection, boot coves, and vac-suits. Offering weekly updates and Readiness Preparation Classes.
Q: Am I Safe Entering a Clients Home? A: Yes! Before we book appointments, we ask the client the following questions? Have you or anyone in the home come have any medical conditions we should be aware of? Has anyone in the house you are booking an appointment for come into contact with or exposed to the COVID-19 Virus? Has anyone traveled outside the U.S. within the last 30 days? If any of these questions are answered Yes, we cancel the appointment. While on everyone’s mind, we would like to take this time to point out that we are following the CDC guidelines. We are taking safety measures to prevent and spreading of the coronavirus.
In addition to our regular disinfecting and sanitation routines, we have trained staff to the CDC standards. Here are the steps we are following when entering & cleaning your home:
We are washing our hands upon entering & exiting every home, store, & office. We are using hospital-grade disinfectant and following the dwell times on surfaces and frequently touched areas such as light fixtures, doorknobs, countertops, and faucets (kitchen & bathroom). Our staff has always been instructed to wear gloves in client’s homes and to use a new pair when switching rooms. We are limiting the amount of staff we are sending to various locations to minimize exposure. We are using steam & heat techniques to keep our equipment clean. We are wiping all equipment between all homes and at the end of the day. We are washing all laundry multiple times. As always, we are not allowing our staff who show any contagious symptoms to enter the office or client’s homes. This is something we always feel strongly about and especially now. We offer services to the elderly community & to homes with young children which we do not take for granted. We encourage our clients to cancel appointments whenever they are not feeling well–no cancellation fee is applied during these times unless it is excessive. During this time, we are all unsure what to plan for tomorrow and the following weeks/months. Should we decide to close our services down for any period we will contact you. We want to thank all our clients who have reached out to us and have offered to pay for any canceled services during this time. We greatly appreciate the caring support to our small business and especially our staff. If you feel strongly about supporting any staff member during this time we encourage our clients to consider having us do outside projects such as exterior window cleaning, garage & shed organizing/cleaning, etc. We have a lot of experience with various projects on our crew & we would love to keep busy during these times.
Another option is to purchase a gift certificate to use at another time or to pass onto a friend/family member.
In closing, any client who would like to cancel their appointments, we completely understand & respect that decision. There will be no cancellation fee assigned. Please consider scheduling an extended cleaning when your resume services so we can return your home to maintenance standards.
We truly believe we are all in this together & we have faith we will be better as a community and planet once this passes.
Our Warmest Regards,
Michael Carvalho Director of Operations

I am a cleaner for a small business. We take care of homes and hotels... at first I was really nervous about contracting the illness because I'm always around germs and potential exposure.
But I've realized that we are TRAINED to stay safe while at work! We never touch anything without gloves and try to wear masks whenever possible. We are provided with professional grade cleaners and are constantly washing our hands.
When I get home, I leave my shoes outside on the porch and immediately take a nice warm shower! We've been very busy, so that's a plus too.

Do you like working with your hands? Are you a curious problem solver? Maybe a career as an HVAC Technician is for you!
What would I do? HVAC technicians are skilled laborers in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Typically, they are assigned to a customer that has an HVAC-related issue and are responsible for resolving the problem. The job may include replacing a damaged part, repairing a leaky pipe or adjusting equipment for a better performance.
Here are four steps to becoming an HVAC Technician:
Earn a high school or equivalent
Attend and complete a training program Programs can range from 10 months to two years depending on the institution.
Gain experience through apprenticeships Apprenticeships are typically offered by unions and contractor associations. On-the-job training adds up to 2,000 hours per year and helps new techs learn skills while working under industry professionals.
Earn the required state licensees and industry certifications Different states require different licenses and certifications. Check the state regulations in the areas you plan to work in!

Me, it wasn't about the money, I was all about working at Excel Janitorial Services and doing my work correctly. The rest is Gratitude.

Truth, leaving incorrect lights on or off. And security of the alarm system.
