Last year at work I #MadeADifference when...

The most important element is patience. And with patience comes caring with compassion and understanding. Everyone is different and has to be treated in the manner that suits them. I make a difference in treating clients with the respect they deserve.

Last year at work I #MadeADifference when...

I’ve always been an optimistic person. I remember when I was a kid I’d always pretend to be a rock star or a famous actor or just pretty much anything that I was not... as I got older I started to realize that for the most part, people want the same things. Actually I should say the same feelings. People in general want to be confident in their work feel good about themselves and have the people around them (in the workplace) feel good about having you around... Being an asset to the company you work for and to be the foundation for your family on the home front. I had all those goals and aspirations in my teens, twenties, thirties, and now I just turned forty... the difference between most people and myself is that I spent most of those years behind bars... granted not all of them, but the most important years of my life were sadly taken away from me... not because I was s Criminal per say, but a man who had lost some key pieces in his life, and became an addict... all that being said without more detail, I’m sure you can imagine it was not a resume you should be proud of... so last year how did I make a difference? Well you could ask my boss, who would probably tell you that I’ve been a pain in the ass, but he would also tell you that I was able to change his outlook on life. I was able to show the company and my family that it is possible to bounce back. That it’s all in how you percieve yourself. Once my boss realized he had hired someone who was pretty much adaptable to any environment, capable of communicating on all levels of employment, understanding that safety and personal growth are key factors in success... he told me he was proud of me. He told me that I had given him hope, that I had shown him resilience that he had never seen before.. last year I became an asset to the people that gave me a chance. To the people that risked my word and allowed me the opportunity to be everything I’ve always wanted to be... Me. Sincerely, Matthew Edwards

I finished a project ahead of schedule. When I worked at Liberty Honda by scanning the car deals the salesmen and or sales women were able to have all the paperwork online, so they did not have to track down the original paperwork in the accounting dept which saved them time.I scan more than one sheet at a time, so each car deal is getting scanned quicker, and therefore I can have several car deals scanned by the end of the work day.

When I worked at my last job, my supervisor had me training a new employee. The trainee did not have a lot of self esteem. I took extra care to make sure she was appreciated and was capable of accomplishing any job task assigned. Over time, she came out of her shell and became one of the best workers in the department.

I raised tthe ltl rates by 15% on each shipment for the continuing expenses the owner operators are faced. due to rising fuel cost, lumper charges have increases at the consignees they deliver to, the dot driving regulaltions, and elogs have caused the drivers to spend extra days in their trucks, added more days to deliver their routes, less home time. Price increases for parts and repairs for their equipment. This increase made the company a profit and put more cash flow to the owner operators to help continue to run their business and have success.

I helped out in housekeeping a lot when they were short staffed. I was trying to be a team player and show everyone else that they needed to be a team player as well.

I made a difference when I started to take ownership in what I do. I started to take initiative and became empowered. Having integrity makes a big difference in you and the people around you. It’s contagious.

It’s a trait/characteristic that doesn’t happen once, it lingers and becomes who you are as person.
