Things are looking up.....
I wanted to share with my piece of good news. I have been doing numerous jobs over the years. Some jobs i stayed in i really liked and other jobs i did it because of the money. I recently relocated to Texas after 20 plus years in New Hampshire. I relocated to be with someone special. Upon arriving i find that trying to land what you want to do and what you get are two different things. Through persistence and determination i was able to land a job back in electronics. There are some employers who will look through your application without batting an eye and there are some that take the time out to review your work qualifications. Don't get frustrated if they don't call back do your part call them back give it a day then try again. They will either tell you the job has been filled or do even worse not even reply to your phone calls. Keep plugging away. Looking for a job is easy, it's getting one that's the hard part. Know your worth and use that to your advantage, never sell yourself short. I been out in that market where you send numerous applications sometimes sending 2 or 3 to the same job. And i know the sadness when they tell you position has been filled and you had your heart set on it. Never give up there is a job out there for each and everyone of job seekers. During my 7 months here i bounced back and forth between jobs my job experience looked as if i didn't care for those jobs and sometimes you take what you can get until something better comes along And after playing tennis with my jobs lol i was able to land one to my liking. So i tell everyone never give up or give in to sadness. Without the support from my partner i would have succumbed to frustration awhile ago. So i thank her each and every day for being my support

Finding Positivity When Things Look Down
I know in general right now it can be hard to stay positive, whether you’re looking for a job or already have one. Not to mention everything that might be going on in the world. I wanted to share a few tips on how to stay positive when things might not be looking so great.
1. Start your day in a positive way: When you get up and rush out the door, you’re already starting your day stressed. Try waking up and moving a little slower - sit down and have breakfast, listen to or read something inspirational, stretch. This will help get your day set on a good note. 2. Take a break: It’s important to take some time for yourself and step away from what you might be doing. Set aside some time to work on a hobby you’ve been neglecting; go see a movie; take a bath; get together with friends - whatever it is, just focus on being present in that moment. 3. Empty the bucket: I had someone share this little story with me once and the main point was when you empty the bucket little by little, you aren’t weighed down by everything at once. Basically, do something small from your to-do list throughout the day. Instead of letting it all pile on for the end of the day or week, knock it out slowly between everything else you’re doing. Make that phone call, send an email, do the dishes. You’ll find you feel a little more relieved while working on the rest of your current tasks when you aren’t focused on your long list of to-dos when you’re done. 4. Give out positivity to gain some: When you focus on bringing something positive to someone else’s life, you’ll find that more of it also starts coming your way. Offer someone a ride, listen to someone who just needs to get something off their chest, etc. You will be so much happier when you can do something small for someone. 5. SMILE! It’s amazing what smiling a little more can do for you and everyone around you. Not to mention you use fewer muscles so you should be less tired! ;-)
I hope this helps us all as we continue to go through our days, especially as the winter months set in. If you have anything to add to this list, please share!

just me...
it is always good to remember people can change in life i myself have used some poor choice skills in life and yet i remember gods grace and the fact is grace is unmerited favor their is no works that can achieve it...it is a gift from god..keep your chins up when one door closes another shall open..peace and blessings be with you all..Richard alan irvin

Gave my resignation notice....
So I've been working at a Health Ins call center for the past two years of my life. Dreading to go to work daily because it's so depressing and stressful. However just when I was going to give up hope the lord said let there be light, I was called in for an interview with a bank for a position that I believe is going to make me much happier. I'll be a Mortagage Document Specialist. I thank god and can't wait to start. So the moral behind this is never give up hope !

Finally!
I just have to say - after a year working in customer service, which I was told would be a career killer for me, I finally landed a volunteer position in a hospital within the field I went to school for. I honestly never thought this would happen and just kept looking hoping something would work. I need experience so I can actually get a job doing something I actually want. It's only one day a week, so I'll have to keep my crappy job, but I'm so excited! Keep going everyone! It can take time but you don't know what's coming.

Have Courage, Faith and Belief
Hi everyone, wishing you all great things.
I have been reading some posts and responded to just a few. You know I really did not nat to share this but based on so many negative and seemingly hopeless posts about work and life I had to say something that was positive and more uplifting.
Before anyone gets out their daggers to attack me. I am 56 years old. I am no threat to you. Please relax.
But I do want to talk to you from my heart to your heart. Yes these are hard times we face in the USA. I agree. And yes it is hard for all age groups and races and beliefs and genders to find a job. But you can’t give up, you can’t get negative, you can’t score and rant, you can’t blame others. We must accept our loss of employment fully upon our own shoulders. Please understand what I just said. I said accept and not agree. I am not here to judge you or anyone or myself actually. It is what it is. But we must come to the workforce with a heart of wanting to make our world better in any way we can. That we love our neighbors and we even love those that sometimes drives us totally bonkers.
So lets think about when we lost a job because we did something wrong. OK, as big or little as its was, we must learn from it. We must take ownership of it. We can not and should not blame others because we had been foolish, intoxicated, angry, bitter etc etc. We must own up to our own failures and agree to change and improve.
To the true victims of sexual harassment and physical abuse from an employer. You have avenues of government recognized organizations that will help and assist you and you deserve this assistance huge. But also remember life must go on and you can’t use it as a crutch or excuse. Deal with the aggressor, but you must pick yourself up and be amazing for you. No one else will do it.
The same is to be said for anyone who is a victim of any kind of workplace abuse. You eventually must take on board you and only you are responsible for your individual success.
Courage defines who we are and what we should be. Be filled with your courage and be confident in those things you do with excellence and brilliance. Having courage does make you stand out in any environment.
Have faith in who you are and why you are hear. If you don’t have faith in your self how can you possibly ask me to have faith in you other than faith in trust at the best.
Believe in your dreams and in yourself and what you can do and what you want to do. This is actually one of the most important drivers in your life success. You may have confidence and you may have faith but if you do not believe in you and your amazing person and self you won’t show it.
You are made to be a very special and amazing person and full of surprises to your friends and your community and to a workplace. The moment you don’t believe in you, you can’t let us all see the amazing things you can do. Believe in your ability to be awesome and amazing and generous and kind and the list goes on and on. Your ability to believe in you and your conviction in what you can do will make all the difference in what you do and who hires you.
So what if you have been fired from 7 jobs…..actually thats a badge of honor in some ways. Or if you had been caught taking something from your last job you should not have. Own up to it, own it and make it right.
You must work every day to make yourself someone that the general public wants to hire. And if we don’t work on that then we have failed ourselves, our family and actually our society. Because you may be the very person that they need and you did not show them.
My dear friends, stay the course, have the courage that you can face all challenges and obstacles, have faith that you will succeed and have belief in your self as a person that is amazing and gracious.
I wish you all every success and greatness. Only you can make this happen. Your friend ——John
