I finally got an offer about a month ago at a company that has locations all over the country. I signed my offer electronically about 3 weeks ago and haven't heard from anyone since. My start date is March 13th and I still haven't received info about my orientation or anything. Should I be worried? I emailed the hiring manager on Friday, no response yet.

How do I know this is legit or not? Anyone ever hear or deal with Microland.com
Offered me a job but the money side for 'the purchase of software and hardware' doesn't jive with me. Anyone care to weigh in on this one for me?
That is your accounting task and the vendor will have to receive the payment from you, so as to make sure all materials are enscripted in your name
You will be receiving the check for the purchase of your working materials. Once you receive the check you are needed to have the check deposited into your bank account and once the funds are available in your account, you are to deduct the $200.00 as your sign on bonus and the rest of the funds in your account will be for the purchase of your working software. I will be here to refer you to the vendor whom you will be making the purchase from. Do you understand this part?

Diagnostic radiology tech
Well after almost 3 months of applying to every position I could find, medical and non medical, I finally got a job offer. Very happy about the offer, hours are great, very flexible days, local. The draw back the pay is about 60% less then my former position. Now what? I do plan to keep looking. BUT

New E-mail address for possible scams
Just a heads up to everyone. I've had several e-mails coming in from people with job offers, etc stating they had seen my resume online, etc. Sounded suspicious to me, but the e-mail looked legitimate down to the address - until I tried to check out the company after the first one. If you get something from an e-mail ending in @gmx.com - it's probably a scam. I thought it might be a company, then I find them on Facebook as an e-mail provider. I know some people have said they are seeing e-mails from Gmail, etc for scams, but it looks like now there's a new web address to use. Thanks!

Wasn't even considered!!!!
I recently was working temporarily at an office being a medical transcriber. I was there for about a month and they really loved having me work there. They mentioned wanting to keep me around, but just didn't need me at that time. Anyways, 3 months go by and I see that they have an opening for that role, so I applied. They didn't even have me in for an interview, which is really confusing because they really wanted to hire me full time a few months ago. I don't understand and I am really confused.

I need advice, I don't know what to do
I feel terrible. I've been looking for a job for about 2 months and I've been applying. I've gotten a few phone interviews that become a face to face interview. I know I can't be too picky when looking for a job but I also know that I have to like the job I'm doing. I had 2 interviews this week and I am lucky enough to be offered the jobs on the spot. I wasn't expecting them to offer it to me right then and there. So now, I was unemployed desperate for a job and now I have 2 jobs. I didn't know what to say at the time except thank you for the job. However, one of the job I got offered doesn't really fit me or not what I'm looking for. I didn't know, and don't know how to tell them I can't take the offer. I feel terrible. I'm glad I found a job but after the interview and knowing more about it, it was different than I expected. I know I just cannot 'not' show up to work, that won't be right but I don't know how to approach the situation after the fact. I feel that I missed my opportunity to tell them but I didn't want to seem ungrateful. Do I call them, email or send a 'thank you but no thank you' card?
Please help!
Thank you everyone in advance!

Sucker Punched!!
I received a call from the hiring manager congratulating me on getting hired and welcoming me to the team. I was a bit shocked because I had interviewed for this job back in early Jan but never heard anything back. She got into talking about the start date, orientation, and training then said she was excited to finally have another University of Florida alum on the team. The problem is I never went to the University of Florida , I went to FSU. She was silent for awhile then asked me for my last name which I told her then things got real awkward. She put me on hold for about 15 minutes then came back on apologizing for the confusion because the job had been offered to another Arleen, not me (I’m actually Arlen). HR, had given her the wrong applicant information. I asked if she had seen my application information and she responded with “someone in human resources will be contacting you”. I hung up with some expectation of hearing back from them out of sympathy or compassion for the confusion but I couldn’t help feeling extremely disappointment after having my hopes built up and then shattered in an instance. Is there anything I can do to turn their mistake into an job opportunity at this point?

Made me an offer and changed their mind - crushed here
A local Gas company called me with a job offer on Friday about 3:00. I was to start in a week or so. I had an interview for another company th very next Tuesday. So I told them I'm thankful for the offer and if I could come in next Wednesday to sign the papers. They told me I have 5 days to accept the the offer and that that was perfectly fine. The following Monday morning 9:30 am as I was getting ready to go down and accept the offer they called and left a message on my phone that they have "moved on" and will be reposting the offer and that is no longer available to me. I called them right away and they said "sorry upper management already made a decision". I can't believe they did this, is this legal? I have to come to the conclusion with this kind of unethical behavior maybe this wasn't such a good company to work for after all. Feeling crushed as I needed the job but wanted to interview for the other job too it was a state job. Which I didn't get anyway.

I'm not a bad person!
I am deeply saddened at the at the fact that my job offer was retracted. I was hired as a case manager for our county Head Start program. I clearly understand that people with felonies or even misdemeanors are quickly eliminated, I have neither. 10 years ago I was pulled over for driving with expired tags, I mailed in payment for my ticket and that was that. A few months down the road I learned there was a warrant for my arrest for not showing up for court. I immediately headed down to the jail to show proof of my payment. Because there was a warrant already issued, I was booked in. I was released that same afternoon and summoned to court a month later. At court I was explained that if payment is not received by the date given then I have to appear in court on the specified date. My payment was received one day late, had I followed up with the court i would have known (that was completely my fault) but either way that is all I have on my record. After the employer pulled my record, they retracted my job offer. This made me feel extremely upset because I have no criminal background. I have worked for the government and for our school district. They are making me feel like I'm a criminal.

Dumbfounded
I applied for a PRN position with a local company that is owned and run by a company with locations around the country. I was contacted by the HR recruiter who is located in another state. She set me up with an interview. 2 days before my interview I saw that they posted a regular part time position that I was more interested in. I called the recruiter and said I also wanted to interview for that position. She never returned my call. I went to the interview and told that person that I was more interested in the other position. That manager said I could combine both jobs and have a full time position and if it was up to her she would hire me on the spot . The following week , the out of state recruiter called me and said she wanted to offer me the combined position and I would be full time . Apparently I asked the wrong question when O asked how many hours I would be working at the part time position. She said she would have to check back with the facility . To make a long story short, after several weeks of back and forth, her telling me that the part time position actually wasn't enough hours to be part time for benefits, and then asking me if I wanted both positions just PRN. Then she kept sending me e-mails saying I wasn't taking her calls. I told her, I have a iPhone that logs every call I get and she was the one not returning my calls. She finally said someone who already works there wants the position so they gave it to her. What the heck was that all about? I actually told another job I had interviewed for that I wasn't interested due to getting this job much closer to home even though the pay was much less, the commute was great.
