Job search advice
Hello everyone!!! I am very interested in relocating to Atlanta,Ga. I have been applying and getting responses, but the salary offers suck!!!!
Specifcally, I have been in healthcare for 17 years as a medical biller and patient account representative respectfully. I am being offered 15 dollars an hour. Is that really the best that Atlanta has to offer?

Requesting positive thoughts for my mother, please.
I'm so angry. My mom has over 40 years of paralegal/office management experience. Last Friday, she interviewed for a new position and less than two hours after, got a text from the employer asking if she wanted the job. She replied absolutely and said she would give her employers 2 weeks notice. The employer sent an official offer letter via email. My mother reviewed it and responded that everything looked fine and she had a couple questions, asking the employer to contact her at her convenience. The employer texted her saying she hadn't responded in a timely manner, so the job went to someone else. WHAT?! My mother responded that she had accepted the job on Friday and gave notice to her current employers already. No response. So now, after next Friday, my mom is unemployed at 61 years old. Please send some good vibes her way. This is very scary.

Runaround?
I interviewed and got this position with a tech company in January, but it has been delay after delay in my starting, and now this makes the fourth one. Are they trying to get me to give up on them and quit? It is a really good job, and it is my first choice- but I need some income coming in, and I can't afford to keep playing these games.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Is this standard??
Last year I had refused a job offer working at a company in the aviation field because of the shit hours and also because they were taking way too long to tell me if I was the candidate they picked or not. It happens that last month they called me again offering another position with a better shift, which I happily accepted the offer- it's a really good company to work for. They asked me when could I start, and I gave my current boss the two weeks notice. My boss was then sad to see me leave and tried to make me stay! But I'm sick of my coworkers and I know the other job will open more doors for me. I was supposed to start working last week, but I'm now at home and it's been a week that I have no income and no peace of mind. They're hiring me as a contractor for the first 90 days. They are asking me SO many information! I am from another country, and this would be my second job in the country. Everything I did was completely legal, I always paid all my taxes. My position in this company does not involve serious security or confidentiality. I don't see a reason why they need information as my work records since 2010, the taxes I paid in my country. Last Friday they asked me again a copy of my school diploma. I was so pissed because I had sent it already on Feb 17th to the designated person!!!! Is this common for companies to ask so many info before you start? I had to sign a BUNCH of documents all online. I'm so upset, because I could have stayed at the job that I left. Now I'm sitting at home completely lost, waiting for an ok from the hiring company. I already contacted the company I would be working for and they just told me they're waiting on the contractor company to give them an ok that everything it's ok. It's been almost a month though, and my records are perfect, I don't even have any driving ticket... Is it just me or this is a little ridiculous how long it's taking for them to verify all my info?

The Saddest Thing I've Had to Do: Declining an Offer from a Great Company
After more than a year a infuriating and sometimes heartbreaking job search as I struggled to complete grad school while working fulltime, I finally scored an interview with a Fortune 100 company. I prepared. I was excited. I got an offer: 75K base, 12.5K signing bonus, and 14K relocation package. I have to decline.
The state income tax and the cost of living compared to where I live now making 62K would actually result in a decline in my quality of life. I'm so depressed. I really wanted to have a career at this company. It's a fantastic company, but with student loan repayment approaching I would be a working poor.

Should i file complaint with labor dept?
On feb 6th, i received an offer letter with starting date of march 13th pending background investigation. After 2 weeks of background investigation i was givin clear to start. I followed up with recruiter and she says unfortunately the position was filled! Major bank that is. Do i hire a labor lawyer, and file complaint, do i have a case? I was told they are still interviewing for more qualified Candidates. Even though i have 17 years experience in banking, and they gave me an offer letter...

i GOT A JOB!!!!
After filling out like 50 applications I finally got a job on Friday as a home health aide. I also have an appointment with someone else tomorrow. Maybe I'll be lucky to get some more clients.. Please wish me luck.
