I just need to get this off my chest!! I have a felony and a misdemeanor on my record. They are 9 years old, DUI and Drug Possession ( pain killers). I just got a offer on a good job, I told them about my background before they offered me the job. I always tell future employers about my background at the interview. I would rather tell them face to face so I can explain. Then if they aren't gonna hire me I will already know. I don't have to play the waiting game. My problem now is that, the company that gave me a job offer subs out drug testing and background check. I just received my background check in the mail Wednesday from the company that is doing the pre hire stuff. The disposal date on one 04-19-2010, that one is correct. On the DUI they have 04-19-2016. That one isn't correct. Also the letter said that they can pull my pre conditional offer. I called the company that ran my back ground check. To explain that one of the dates were off by 6 years. She put in a complaint and gave me a reference number( at least that will be fix on my background). She said I need to Called the company and explain the dates were wrong. I told her if she looks at the Case numbers they are 1 number apart. She also sent me an email that had a link, there were a lot of questions bout my background check( general questions) and a place where they wanted me to explain the situation surrounding my arrest/ what have I done to rehabilitate myself. I filled it all out and now I'm waiting. I'm gonna call again tomorrow. I'm not sure if anyone will be in the office til Wednesday. I'm planning on putting in the paper work to have my record expunged. I'm glad that I received a copy of my background report, I wasn't aware there was a typo. That does explain a lot though. I had a job offer with another company, like I said I always tell employers about my background. They had given me a start date, made my badge, did tax paper work. Then the Friday before I was to start that Monday I received a call from H R saying they were pulling my job offer. I told them I didn't understand why. She explained it was my background check. I told her I told them all about that. Then she said when I get more time behind me come back and put in another application. I was kinda mad when all that happened. Now I see, when they got my background it looked as if I had just gotten arrested and charged with a crime. I guess they thought I was trying to hide it from them. I am not ashamed of my past!! Mistakes were made, I have learned from them!! I am an ( a recovering)addict. I love the person I am. If anyone wants to get on this post and bad mouth my situation trust and believe your not gonna hurt my feelings. I know there are KEYBOARD WARRIORS out there who wanna make ppl feel bad for mistakes they have made, or just wanna bad mouth the situation of others being unemployed. Thanks for letting me Vent, if you have anything to advice to offer I could use it. I'm kinda stressing right now:)

Ok so this is my situation, ive got an opportunity to become an officer for a casino and the pay is good, perks are there and the staff has been reviewed as very warming and helpful to new employees. Then i have an opportunity at this very same time to work for a private contractor who does orchard preparation and Development , and he likes my work ethic because ive done side work for him. The casino is a maybe, but the contractor is a for sure with raises and good pay too. What do i do?

I applied for a job, went in for the interview, got the job and now waiting on my background check to come back. That has been over 1 week ago. The store manager keeps telling me that nothing has come back on me yet. (She keeps in touch with me) Any ideas what the hold up could be?

I just had my interview on June 15. It took 14 for me to get a return email soffeing me to job. I took the position and yesterday, the same day I was notified, I went and completed my drug test and gave permission for my background check to be done.

Does anyone know how long this will take now? I am super excited to start but I dont know If I should call or just wait again?? Thanks

Hi all I recently applied for what I call my dream job. Pay good and full benefits and decent hours. Everything was going in a positive direction did the interview and passed the physical test all went well. The last time I spoke to the HR person she said as long nothing pops up with background check it should be fine. Well for two days now I have not received any response to my emails or voicemail. I may have messed up on my former employment for reason of leaving that's a different story. In any case this was my one golden ticket out of my current job. I feel I'm missing something I know an employer is not obligated to tell you why they stopped in the hiring process. A common professional courtesy would be nice. Would appreciate some advice in where to go from here. Perhaps I should be more thankful for what I have just very disappointed.

Hello everyone, I work for a company that the pay is very good but the benefits are horrible, but I was offered an position where the pay went down by 1.16 but the benefits are great and I will be an site coordinator any suggestions. Again, when I tell you thins has been the hardest year of my life, it has been tough one. However, I can't help but feel so sorry for all of the posts I come across about people nearly homeless, having their cars repoed.. it makes me realize things were not as bad as I thought. Anyways, to stay on track with my subject line, I e finally received a call back and was offered a full-time position at Wake Baptist. I'm very excited. I have been juggling bills and going without for an entire year, trying to get back on my feet after relocating to be closer to my parents. Please keep the faith folks. Please. As inpatient as I am, I truly tried my best to stay positive, even though I had a few slip ups where I felt like jumping off a cliff. But, please just know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I was offered a job it took them two weeks to even let me know that they haven't got my background check and then after that they tell me that they got my background check it's been almost 10 years since I've been in trouble they need to give people a chance

I don't know how to handle, or what should I do.....I'm currently working under a staffing agency. My current assignment, supervisor and co-workers have been raving about how well I'm doing and how everyone loves me. Well the agency decided to offer me a job working directly for them and I was so honored and excited but I couldn't start my job with them until they hired someone for me to train and to take my place. This has been going on since March and during this time, of course I've been applying and interviewing for other jobs. Yesterday, I was offered a job and accepted. Later that day, I was told the staffing agency has found someone and things are moving along for me to start working with them....sounds good right??? Well without knowing how long it would take to finally bring me on board with the staffing agency (remember I've already been waiting since March), I don't know what to do about the other job that I've accepted. My preference is the staffing agency job but I need to know if it's a sure thing before I'm scheduled to start the other job in two weeks. I did reach out to the staffing agency asking them the status on me starting and if they can give me a definitive date so I can know if I should decline the other job and haven't heard back yet. Both jobs would be a win although the staffing job pays more, the other job I actually have with a start date even though I do not have my offer letter yet, which I asked for but haven't received, is a bit concerning (will reach out to again for that). So any advice on this situation??

I had an interview with these guys last Friday which was June 16th the person i interviewed with said they had A lot of cases open on the west side area. Any who I got the job and i would start orientation on Wednesday the 21st. Fast forward to Wednesday I go meet with some lady I told her that i want it to be full time 40 hours a week. She only had one client that was only 20 hours a week and she asked did i wanna pick up a few people hours that was on vacation i said yeah that"s cool. I reached 38 hours but i started to think when these people come back from vacation I'm going to stuck with 20 hours. I have kids and 20 hours are not enough. The pay is only 9.50 which isn't enough either. So i walked out orientation and told them i wasn't interested the hours it was what i expected. Long story short I missed my class to go to orientation I asked them can I get a note stated that i came and i wasn't interested in the in the job. They said No because i didn't take the job and i only stayed for 20mins. Which i stayed for a hour. there upset because i didnt want the dumb ass job. unprofessional
