Jobcase puts zing into the job search thing!
I want to re-enter the workforce after taking early retirement three years ago. Today's job market with social media platforms and online job searches is like something from another planet. Jobcase quick responses have opened new horizons to my future! They have really great job leads. I decided to set aside 4 hours every day toward landing my next job. I bought 30 days of bus fare in advance. I have started having fun and feeling confident that I will find the employer who is eagerly searching to hire ME!

Ms. Harris
I LOVE this way for searching for a job!!

Hello everybody
I haven't had much time to get on here but couldn't wait until I could. Everyone here on jobcase has gotten me through the hopeless days, anxiety, my fear of giving up if it weren't for my two teenage boys (sometimes I wasn't sure I was doing them any good), the crying etc. it has been a tough road. I had a perfect job opportunity that I screwed up being ten minutes late. I had gotten lost, no cell phone and hadn't had the gas to make a dry run taking a different route for my second interview. This wasn't like me and I couldn't grasp why I was changing. I was hating myself even more so for feeling sorry for myself but it all came down to everything I do is for my two boys. I received a call for a collections position. Considering I'm applying for a mechanical assembler position I wasn't thrilled but extremely thankful. I took the position and incredibly it isn't just a pay check. I'm happy. It is much more than collections, it's only five of us, immediately I was told how great of a job I'm doing even was told phenomenal job. My heart broke because that recognition is hard to come by. I have some concerns that I'm the new girl and maybe not everyone is liking me working. But I will put forth everything I have to take care of my two boys. I did attempt to apply for the mechanical Assembler position yet again and received a email thanking me for applying but unfortunately they will be considering other candidates. It broke my heart that a second chance isn't an option clearly. I can tell you one thing for certain that if they would have hired me they wouldn't be hiring for that same spot again today!!!!!!!!! Because of all of you and your kind words and making me feel like I had family with strangers I've never met before, I thought to myself would these have been people I would have wanted to work for? Nope!!!!!!!!! I'll take day by day as I always should. It's definitely a change having my two boys smile when they see mom dressing up to go to work instead of steel toe boots and jeans. THANK YOU EVERYONE AND I'M GOING TO LOG ON EVERY NIGHT TO SAY HI. I can't afford a cell phone service with this check but I'm going to try for one next paycheck and that will make it easier for me to login and say hi.

Thank you
I really needed that.that was really unexpected but very true thanks for that.

You need to know
I find myself in situations that a lot of y'all talk about even though I found a new job the stress of life is still here but I hold on to the faith and believe one day everything will be okay things don't get easy it's a process and because of y'all I have found the strength in myself to help someone else to lift someone else because of you and your stories is helping me continue mine I don't feel better because of me I feel better knowing that we all are blessed and with that every road block will be fixed every door will open every storm will past please stay positive with faith and belief in joy your weekend

I was skeptical...
When I first joined Jobcase, it was to help me in my job search. When I realized there was a community board, I almost didn't fill out my profile. I was worried that the community board would be filled with negativity. I try my hardest to be a positive person so I was afraid the community board would only be discouraging and cause anxiety.
I am SO grateful I joined! The Jobcase community is fabulous. You guys (and gals) really encourage one another, celebrate success, comfort failures, and are all around very warm, empathetic individuals. You all share your experience (good and bad), share advice on what to do and what not to do, offer alternative part-time suggestions for the in-between time, and even encourage others to start their own businesses.
Though I start my new job on Monday, I intend to hang around. Just because I have found something I will truly enjoy from a career prospective, I hope to be able to continue to encourage those still in the tough position of searching. I have yet to find another community job board on the internet that is truly a safe haven for expression, as well as a source for endless amount of knowledge and encouragement.
In short, you all ROCK! Remember to be proud of yourself, know your worth, and never give anyone the power to make you feel less than. I'll leave you with one of my favorite sayings (a little sappy, but effective): In your darkest days of feeling inadequate, unworthy, and unloved, remember whose daughter/son you are and straighten your crown!
Have a Beautiful Friday and a Fabulous Weekend!

Amazing
Thank you for being so helpful

A newcomer tip
You need to post more then a title. I am seeing a lot of people posting in the title. I need a job or something similar. Its hard for people here to help you if that is all you are saying. It is a given that most here are looking for some kind of work. Then maybe one line in the body saying Hi or something of that nature.
Be more descriptive. Like I am looking for work in this industry. Then in the body of the message. Describe what issues you are having. Why you want to work in that kind of job. Ask questions on how to get job A vs job B. etc.
Hard to help when there is no information to go by.

A Quick Thank You
In the few weeks since I have joined the Jobcase community, I have received a number of referral posts from other members of this community pointing me to jobs of interest, and I just want to take a minute to say thank you to all of you. I have been very encouraged by the spirit I see operating in the posts and comments as people sometimes bare their hearts and are comforted by the community of people who really care. I am proud to be a member of Jobcase, and look forward to a long association with this community as a jobseeker and eventually member of the workforce.
