TIps?

Looking for a job close to Cumberland Indiana, everything I have found so far is food service close to minimum wage. I need a career change that pays well and is close as I have limited transportation. TIps and tricks on finding something that is not a scam and pays well? Possibly working from home that is again not a scam?

Years ago !

I picked up a hot load in Indiana going to Louisiana. I got loaded 4 hours later and got there at 10 the next morning. They quickly reloaded me to go back to Indiana. When I got there they loaded me again for Louisiana. When I got there they loaded me back for Indiana. I drove about 8 hours after being awake for 72 hours and 3 log books later I decided after I couldn't go any further . So I stopped to sleep , the load would have to wait. Gentlemen let me tell you Please don't do that for any Company !!

Faith + Timing = Abundant Blessings

I relocated from Ohio to Indiana based upon my spouse’s job August 2018. I started job searching in the beginning of September realizing that my specialization in Head and Neck Lymphedema/Oncology Rehab is either not widely practiced in Central Indiana or recognizes another therapy service line can only evaluate and treat this unique population- Not an Occupational Therapist.
Instead of retreating from my passion and dreams of starting up a Lymphedema Head and Neck Clinic in Indiana, I met new friends from my neighborhood, church and community who have a positive outlook, encourage and support. Yes... I experienced the hills and valleys during this 5 month journey but being persistent has paid off!!!

Long story short, it’s God’s timing on everything using people, and life circumstances to speak to you in order for personal growth to occur. Very humbling to say the least. By performing cold calls, meeting therapy directors, clinical coordinators, surgeons and interviewing for general therapy jobs has proved that persistence and determination pays off!!! Just this week, I was offered a job at a hospital organization the same day I interviewed with the goal to start up a Head and Neck Lymphedema program. Prayers answered!!! My support from other therapy disciplines is evolving. It’s a therapy culture that will take time for change in becoming more multidisciplinary in treating patients for maximizing their functional outcomes. Bottom line... believe in yourself, keep the faith and your focus.

Getting a job with mental illness is hard.. advice?

I've been to three interviews in Kentucky and I explained to the managers I received disability prior. Indiana is nice and willing to work with people with disabilities and hire them (I had three jobs there prior), one with subway at 17 and an employee picked on me saying I broke a register when I never worked register and a supermarket at 16 which I worked the longest for a few months doing carts, bagging, stocking and carrying groceries to people's cars. I also did housekeeping recently and my manager was really nice. I miss my job at Hampton Hilton and the manager knew the situation and wasn't judgmental at all knowing I got a disability check. I wanted to keep my job but there was circumstances where I had to move and quit for living conditions. What would be your advice of how to deal with being cut off from disability and being discriminated against for mental health issue and looking for a job in Kentucky? The managers can tell I'm anxious and have issues but one looked at me like she wouldnt give me a chance because of it and I've also been through trauma and have PTSD along with depression and anxiety... how would you say I should deal with this when I just want a chance like everyone else without feeling discouraged and sad over the judgement and my honesty toward managers...Thank you for your advice.
