Just Hired as New Baker/Prep cook at new restraunt.

After 3 years of Unemployement(temporary disability)and a lot of time searching and applying for a job.Someone is finally willing to give this 53 year old a chance at a job again. After searching all this time I wasnt in a good place in my head as I got a lot of interviews and a lot of no callbacks. What I finally did to get an interview at this job was write and send a resume and a copy of my Foodservice Certicate to hiring Manager, this got my foot in the door and an interview in which I was hired immediately. I am more of a Baker than a Prep Person but I have done a lot of that in the past.Since this is a new openning Restraunt They have over hired so I am nervous about my Job performance since I havent worked in over 3 years.Last Job was Lead Baker on an Air Force Base, which was a very demanding and strict enviroment.I need any pointers anyone who has openned a new Restraunt can give to give a good impression and survive through the first shift.I was nervous starting my last job but ended up from lowly asst Baker to Lead Baker in 2 years and that lasted for 7 years until government changed contracts and was Layed off.I am not going to bring any of the past job difficulties to new job.Just want to be seen as a good worker..

I did it!!!!!!!

I have been actively looking for 2 months for a new job after being laid off in May without notice and have received a job offer! And not just one, I received 2 offers on the same day! I realize many have been looking longer but 2 months felt like forever to me! I was sending out at least 2 applications or resumes every single day since I was laid off, some days I even sent out 6! I was really starting to feel down about myself and like there had to be something wrong with me as I was getting calls for interviews and told that I was a perfect fit and exactly what they were looking for, but then I wouldn't hear from them again. Some applications/resumes weren't even acknowledged as having been received!

For those who are still looking and/or are having problems finding a job, don't give up! I almost did despite doing my best to remember to trust in God's plan and look what happened! If I can end up with 2 companies competing to hire me, you can too! DON'T GIVE UP!!!! Keep applying, make follow-up calls, send follow-up emails, even send a hand written Thank You note to the employer after an interview. It really does help!

I also wanted to thank everyone here for your support and encouragement during this process! I'm not sure I could have made it through without knowing there were otters like me out there, going through the same thing!

So worth it

Hello fellow jobcase, just wanted to let you know. That after such a long time looking. I start working for Texas Children on 8/7/17. Thank you lord for hearing my prayers. For everyone here on job case. If I can do it you can to. It's tiring I know. But don't give up. Heck if your on line and the position hasn't been filled. Especially the one you interviewed for. Email the recruiter let them know them know if position is avialable still. Never know. I got the job. I pray that each and everyone of you find a job. Although I still haven't opened my staffing agency doesn'the mean I can't help. If you need work, send me your resume, what it is your looking for. How far your willing to drive. If your looking for a travel job. A little summary of you. If your a person who stands out or likes to be with in a group. Email me at angelicadez@gmail.com. within USA please for now. Just to help you out. Again this is just to help you. Once your hired, just a thank you would be ok. I know how hard it is. I do these for friends and family. Just let them know where they are hiring. So again let me help you. Act of random kidness can help. Have a great day everyone! God bless you all!

Start date tomorrow Glory to God!

After being terminated from a 1 yr and 6 month temporary assignment back in March, I finally found the position of my desire. I received unemployment benefits, however that barely paid the bills. During my journey I was discouraged and thought about giving up. I prayed hard and prayed before testing that employers send and prior to interviewing. Never lose faith, always believe and continue to do the footwork. I asked for this job, due to the company/benefits/location/hours. I hope this helps or encourages my fellow seekers!

Thank you father for watching over me

I have been out of work for 2 months, sent out so many resumes and answers to job postings, gone on interviews and finally accepted a job offer and start this Monday. I thank the Lord for his blessings of the job, but more importantly my family that he has blessed me with! They were a great support and inspiration. Watch over us all and bless us father. Please bless my family and keep them safe.

Be careful what you pray for

I recently wrote a post about a job I was applying for and how I was left hanging not knowing if I was hired or not. Well it was a case that the hr person was out sick. She did eventually contact me and did get the job. My first day I was like oh no what did I get myself in because from my last job they had us work mandatory overtime six days a week who actually can possibly have a life? Ironically later on that day I would have to work 6 ten hour days so that they can meet the customers needs. Oh well with hope it's temporary until they can hire enough folks to meet the requirements. So be careful what you ask for and just a foot note this job is more challenging and has purpose.

Be the Protagonist

No matter what it is, don't let anyone Antagonize you about what you're doing. Stick to your plan and when no one else has faith you put the faith in yourself. Landed a job today and hopefully land another on Friday. Keep the negative energy away! By Any Means Necessary.
