Knowing when to call it quits.
A number of factors can be considered anytime that you enter or plan to leave a job. We consider our pay or opportunity for advancement the job market the possibility and flexibility of finding a new job but what about how were actually treated at work? Would you leave your job if your boss actually treated you bad enough?what if there's nothing to HR can do about how you're treated and the person you work with it's just been unbearable from day-to-day. Tension in the workplace is something that can hold you back when you feel that you're being attacked can you actually work efficiently...unfortunately for some of us our bosses are kind of abusive. You don't want to leave a negative mark on your resume by quitting but what's the right way to quit a job when your boss is a miser?

When and how do I reveal negatives to prospective employers; in the cover letter, in the resume, or wait for an interview?
I used to be an attorney. I lost my license when the state bar disagreed with wording I had used in my fee agreements to allow me to deposit retainers into income; and when my secretary posted a settlement check to my income account rather than my trust account and I didn't catch it right away.
Do I put this in my cover letter? Do I wait and see if and when it is brought up in an interview? If someone does a background check after my cover letter and resume, they may not wish to interview me, but if I reveal it at the interview, they may decide against me because I did not reveal bad news right away.
I am looking for human resources/compliance management and having no success. It has been 2 1/2 years and I'm still applying, mostly with no responses. What do you think I should do?

What you are willing to do to get a job.
I am in a predicament with a possible employer. They want a Managerial reference, as you all may be aware of, almost all companies frown upon that and say their policy prohibits them doing so and that everything must go through HR. I was asked well why can’t you explain the situation and have them give you their personal email address. Then would go on to say that their company also has that same policy against managers giving references out without going through HR. To me that means they are unethical because why would you want me to break their company policy if their own company wouldn’t do it either. Why are they asking for this ex employer to,break their policies but wouldn’t even do,it themselves. What am I missing?

I worked for the same company for 28 years I was the sales admin supervisor. I was given a project and was told do not worry she will figure it out. I was let down by people in other departments so I could not do the project right. I tried to make an appointment with the owner of the company to explain the problem instead he called me into a meeting with HR, the Gen. Manager and the Plant Manager and was let go. I was given 13 weeks pay in a Separation Agreement and was told by the President of the company I would be okay with my S/S and unemployment. But when the Company HR sent in the reason to unemployment HR trashed me with things I had never heard about and the President would not testify at the unemployment hearing.

Out of Work
I am a HR professional out of work due to extreme life issues--completely out of my control. It's almost embarrassing to talk about. I've taken a temp job while I get my skills back up to par but I can't find work anywhere due to issues at this last position, and being off for so long. Thing is If i were sitting in front of me, I'm not sure I'd hire me either. Any one out there have any GOOD advice for me?
