Fed up
I love to work. I worked when I wasn't supposed to others instead.. I get in a little trouble and get a big fat felony and now they don't want to hire me. McDonald's told me over experienced for the job and Burger King told me I didn't know enough... Un experienced ...

My advice to people interested in working at #Charter as a #Warehousetech ...
Honestly I would tell them to work anywhere else but the warehouse at Charter. I don't know about other departments but this department is a HR nightmare. If you are not being harassed by coworkers and their immature need to start petty arguments, you are being reprimanded for ridiculous reasons. I may sound like a disgruntled employee but I feel like I should at least try and warn people before they work here.
Just to verify I was working along fine and got in a hurry and dropped a pallet on the floor. Now I understand that it does make a loud noise and of course it did. Well long story short I was called in the office and told that I was to not do it again and to have more respect for the other employees sensitivity to loud noises...I work in a warehouse...im kinda at a loss. That is just one of the instances I have. There was another instance where my boss got fed up with the cellphone use and banned cell phones....understandable right...apparently not. One employee literally threw a temper tantrum and was punching the side of the building. She did not get and kind of repercussions for that. She just continued on with her day slamming thing punching and kicking equipment. While the boss sat cozy in his office.
So no if you have the opportunity to work there do not. It is not worth your time.

Direct Applicants Beware!
I wonder why does a company post a position to multiple sights, a person goes through the entire interview process, waits for an offer only to be told the manager decided to hire contractors already in place??? Why even post the position? Offer it to said contractors and if they turn it down then post the position as available. #frustrated, #youwastedmytime

I have conductive hearing loss in both ears, I've been applying for jobs that I know I am skilled to do. I can hear really well on the phone, but can't hear a deep voice or someone speaking quietly, in oerson. I have explained to every employer my hearing aids will be here in 3 weeks. While none of them admit to not hiring me because of my hearing they still go with another candidate. Any suggestions on what I can say or do?

Kim Kimball
I'm at my wits end, it is so hard trying to find a job now a days. So many Web sites I put in 5 resumes a day, most of the time it takes you to another hiring site or to schools waning you to to get more training. Are there real jobs out there or just a ploy to fill your inbox with junk that you over look the real job call backs. How many sites should you sign up with? Or which ones are legitimate job sites?

Frustrated
How do I get a company to hire me? Having gone on interview after interview and being told "oh I love your personality and you have plenty of experience " yet I'm not getting hired. They love my answers and sometime are surprised at my questions when asked if I had anything to ask them. I'm told "oh no one has ever asked any ending questions to ask".

Frustrating job hunt!
I have been job hunting since January now, and have found the experience very frustrating. I had one company fly me in for an interview, and after three hours of what I thought was a great interview, I got an email later that night saying they weren't proceeding further with my application and were considering applicants with more experience and who were a better fit -- they said I made it to the final 3 out of 70 applicants. Now, I see that the job is being advertised again. I am trying to fight off the despondency from this job search. I have sent so many applications off and not received even an acknowledgement.

I worked so very hard to get my B.S., but I am older and have never worked in my field of study. I'm frustrated. What can I do?

Hi Elizabeth, It depends on your field of study and the time lapsed since your graduation. If you graduated with technical degree 5 years ago for example and never held a job in a related field then you'll probably have to take some extra courses to get caught up on new technology/trends. You might have to start out at an entry level until you can gain more practical experience.
Elizabeth,
I would first check with the school you graduated from and see if they offer internships in your field of study. I would also suggest you join some Linked In groups dedicated to your field where you can network with others, as well as search for any professional groups in your field. You need to get out and actively network with others. Good luck!
