Any suggestions?
I've only worked warehouses, and am currently studying for my Sec+ certification. Any jobs I can get in the meantime, so I can gain some knowledge to help me with the exam? #jobsearch #employerblackhole #noexperience

Just Tired Need To Vent...
Hello everyone,
I've been working in communications and PR since I graduated college in 2014. Last summer after working more almost two years I was laid off due to budget cuts. It's been eight months and I still haven't found a job. I have a degree in Journalism emphasis in PR, Associates in Sociology and my MA in Pubic Relations with years of professional experience and interns. I've filled out hundreds of applications at this point, been to networking events, built relationships with sources and attended countless job fairs looking for opportunities. I also had professionals review/edit my resume, update my website, taken advice and from time to time called to check application status. Given the extent of my qualifications, I have filled out apps in other areas as well to give me a better chance of obtaining employment. In most cases I've just received rejection letters when I know I'm capable of doing the work. Or I'm always deemed overqualified, not experienced enough or told I'm not a good fit because I don't know the industry. Not finding work has put me on the edge. I've lost my unemployment and even trying to find something to have income isn't working. At this point, I really don't know what to do even praying that things will work out is exhausting. I'm just really really tired...

............
It's starting to mentally sunk as hope is slowly fading away in my mind.....Now I really feel defeated in life.....This whole amost 8 Months I've been unemployed as I sent out 100s of applications but no calls for the past 7 Months. This Month, I finally got a call. I've conducted the intertview and got hired. I've done my training and passed it with ease. Then found out I can't worked at the sight untill my background check is 100% clear. Of cours, my background is 100% clean so why is it taking so long. I've already burned through almost all my saving maintaining myself through unemployment......I don't drink, but I'm starting think I need to drink.......So now, I'm waiting for amost a week until this last process is complete. In the last 2 days, I just freaking snapped and didn't give a crap, and I slept the entire day and night and didn't eat through it all........I'm very composed externally, but internally, I'm loosing it, and I can't think straight to the point at which I just froze, laying here not caring about anything anymore. I'm telling myself to get up, yet somehow, I'm still laying here in a motionless state as my mind kept wondering far away to very dark and scary place I never intended to be.............(Sigh)

Degree Subjects Matter...
My father used to tell me that it didn't matter what you got your degree in, just as long as you go to a good school and get at least a Bachelor's, no matter what the subject matter is, you will be let into a part of society that is like club or membership that only those who have a degree can be a part of... It's possible that that was once true, but it is no longer the case. I can attest to that.
I have a BA in Music Composition from a major California University. I also have almost 7 years of experience working at a community college. But, the problem is that due to health problems I had to leave that position. Now, my health is better and I want to start working again. But, I can't get hired for anything... I guess I just don't have what people are looking for. I can't even get hired at big box hardware or clothing stores for minimum wage! This is just ridiculous. Just because my degree and majority of job experience is in music, that doesn't mean that is all I can do!!! Ugh, this is sooo depressing...

So Overwhelmed With My Job Search!
I am just so overwhelmed with finding a decent job. I am so reluctant to settle for minimum wage, but they haven't even called me back... I just don't get it? I have a BA from a major university and worked at my last job for almost 7 years! But since my degree and my experience are in music composition and instruction I just don't really have what employers are looking for? IDK, what do they want, a degree in business? Probably! Ugh, I just don't know what to do...

What motivated me at work was...
I needed a job. Experience Works is a government program for older workers who want to acquire new job skills and have been out of the job market for awhile. It is a "bridge" to getting a job using new job skills and experience. It is a 4 year program and you only work part-time while you look for work. The number of hours you can work per week is determined by how much money Experience Works is allocated each year and it varies by state and counties. My hours were adjusted up or down, depending upon the number of people in the program and funding. The work is almost always with a not-for-profit business that has agreed or contracted with Experience Works to take people in the program. While working for Experience Works, I had to apply for at least 3 jobs a week and had to turn in paperwork documenting my searches. There was other paperwork I had to document and turn in. My supervisor from Experience Works met with me every six months and evaluated my progress with my mentor. I did not find work while in the program or after. I had a number of interviews and followed up with each one. I found that jobs for someone my age in the area I was living were few and far between.

Hospital Environmental Service Aide
My name is Mildred, I have always be in the direct care health field regarding employment for well over 12-15 years. I have been employed as a Home Attendant, CNA, Residental Counselor with Developmental Disabled Indivduals, and currently graduated with my Associates in Medical Assistant (MA). With all the work & years I devoted to the health field... I cannot seem to gain employment as a MA in the hospitals,Physician’s offices or clinics ??????? I completed my internship and everything. I have put so many applications ... that I can do them in my “sleep.” I am so so disappointed that I would like to work as a hospital environmental Aide in NY,NY to try a change of careers. Please does anyone know how I should go about getting a job? I am really approaching my wits end.

Job Hunt Frustrations
I've been on my job hunt since late October and it's been a process of applying, getting interviews, and yet getting rejected. It's deeply frustrating but I've been persisting for months and now I'm taking job workshops at my local workforce center to focus on truly mastering the job hunt. It can be a frustrating process and sometimes you want to give up but I need to keep peristing.
